County Cricket 2026

Well I was going to head down to Grace Road tomorrow as I have a free day, but it looks like it will be wrapped up before lunch so I’ve binned that idea.

Toyed with Northants or Warwickshire but it’s been a few years since I’ve went to Derby so I’m going to go there instead. See if they can force a win against Worcestershire.

I actually attended that same fixture in 2023 now that I think about it. Worcestershire were the winners on that occasion.

Northants could be in with a sniff here if they get the tail out quick.
I was there for day one and two and have been following the live stream today. The game has been thrilling and has had so much of what I love about the CC with the initiative switching between teams several times.

When Northants were 41-5 in their first innings I thought it was all but over. However, they stuck in and managed to reach 258 thereby just about keeping themselves in the game. When Lancs were 40-5 in their 2nd innings, Northants were suddenly on top. However, with Lancs having reached 194, which seemed highly unlikely at one point, I'd say they are favourites again.

We've had some excellent bowling from Anderson, Conway, Sanderson and Harrison. We've had positive and assertive batting and excellent displays of resillient batting after rapid falls of wickets. A world class catch, a few drops and three wickets in an over.

C*nts. Utter utter c*nts.

I don’t buy into this logic (that probably only them and their lackeys push anyway) that if it wasn’t for Sky cricket would be in the gutter.

Yes, they put a lot of money in, but how many children don’t get the opportunity to watch cricket on telly and gain vital exposure to it because their parents can’t afford Sky??

All Sky have done is to more or less completely monopolise the game. Gatekeeping it for their own greed.

Long live the dodgy box
