Ross Stewart

Don’t get the love in. Couldn’t wait to be away. Almost had to be forced to write a social media thanks but I’m away when he moved. Not in the slightest bit interested in signing a new contract.

Don’t wish him ill, but we’ve moved on.
Dear me.
A player who was brilliant for us but injury prone gets a chance to secure a a lucrative contract.

Footballers rarely care about clubs, it’s a short career and you move when you need to. I’d call it a draw he was good for us, great at times, but injured for so long. We got a decent fee for him, nothing more just look at what Jobe went for, and we all move on.

I'm surprised to see he's featured in 27 games
They're managing him really well, fitness wise. Even those he's played in he doesn't do 90, nearly always comes off between 60 and 70 at the most. Even in a game as big as the QFinal against Arsenal, they were disciplined and restricted him to that time.

In 'three game weeks' they'll alternate starts, leaving him on the bench to be a finisher in between.

But accepting his limits in game time is working for them.

Good luck to him. Scored many vital goals for us. Moved on in his career and Southampton stood by him during a very long lay off . Nice guy too . Hope he keeps banging them in .
Agree generally but neither we nor Southampton have stood by him. We’ve honoured contracts we are legally obliged to. If his contract had expired and there was no prospect of him getting one elsewhere whilst still injured I think we would have offered him one, we have history of doing so but carrying out our contractual obligations isn’t standing by a player it’s just doing what we have agreed to do.
