Your striker issue

Boro excuses for low attendances….prices are too high, unemployment is rife, it was 8pm on on a Monday evening, we don’t give away any free tickets, Sunderland have good support in Stockton, Sky TV at 12 noon, we are only a small town…..they seem to forget the ‘unrivalled’ conurbation of Middlesbrough, Stockton and also Redcar & Cleveland that must be close to 500,000. However, having said that it’s not about numbers, it’s about passion of a town of city. Millwall support pulled their pants down.
Our average home attendance for this season is 27,328. That's more than respectable for a club operating in the Championship, so not sure where the "Boro excuses for low attendances" comment has come from.

Millwall's average is 16,914. Not knocking that of course, but not sure why you believe their support "pulled our pants down".

27328 when you are going for promotion isn't that good

Not lying at all. Why would I lie about that?
I don't know - why would you lie about that?.
You stated that half our stadium was empty.
Now, seeing as it was a sell out I can only assume that you were telling lies.
It wouldn't be 'half empty' if all home tickets were sold.

Thing is though, we don't obsess about how many attend our matches.
There seems a really weird obsession on here about how large your attendances are, and the shootable offence of leaving the ground before full time
No excuse for shit attendance around 40k more people in the wider area of Teesside than wearside areas.

Boro have always had average support.
Talk about using 'facts' for your own ends.

2024 population
Middlesbrough 156,161
Sunderland 288,606.

Population of Sunderland is almost TWICE that of Middlesbrough.

Teesside……

Imagine quoting something totally different.

Yes quite.
So you can include towns that are not part of Middlesbrough but are local areas that can pull support from?

So, how bout County Durham's population being over half a million?
And that's not including Sunderland itself, or the likes of South Shields and Hartlepool.

There is absolutely no way that we have anywhere near the 'catchment area' for support that Sunderland have.

Out of interest, how many times have Sunderland sold out home games whilst not in the premier league?

You need to learn the difference.

Well yeah, you have a bigger fanbase than us. It's hardly surprising when you compare the population size difference between Sunderland and Middlesbrough.

Higher numbers doesn't equate to better support though.

No it does though Steve

Especially when you have to use "population" as an excuse

Well , apparently even THAT isn't true now, according to somebody on here.
This obsession with attendances is really quite odd.

I remember being at a Sunderland/Boro match at Roker Park their fans were chanting 'You couldn't sell all your tickets' at us.
Thing is, the fans singing it were in a half-full stand.

Which game exactly?
