Millwall

I've only ever known two Millwall supporters.

One was a colleague who could have played Kenneth Williams on the stage

The other came.from.a very troubled background in a family wrecked by drugs, doing his best to climb out of the mess, not always successfully.

They were both good blokes, a million miles away from.the stereotypes of their club.

Give me Milwall any day rather

Rather than Man city, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U

Not spurs cause they're shit

Or the skunks because we re guaranted 6 points

The prem would be far more enjoyable

Went to watch them play Pompey at the old Den with a few mates back in the late eighties. Was a very lively day out.

On the flip side I got talking to a load of them in a pub near Victoria Station about 20 years ago and when they found out I was a MLF they were nowt other than complimentary about SAFC ("proper club" etc) . Telling me it was one of the better away days and rarely any bother. Never bought an expensive London beer all afternoon!

It's magical what Alex Neill is doing i hope they get promoted. Their old boys are top notch and love coming up to ours met them in jamesons big lads very complimentary could sup lol

I was too young to drink then but remember the atmosphere was class. IIRC that’s a mental high price for a can in 2004?
Tell me about it..thing is in the ground they'll have known that folks were struggling to get a beer outside..ÂŁ3..large can and a big plastic cup.

The den isn’t intimidating at all either really. Went there for the 1-1 under Mowbray and it was no worse than most grounds.
Different kettle of fish though when doing well or for cup games and imagine promotion - every man n his dog would be brought back to the stands after missing out on the late 80's promotion.

They got the points on the board and a decent run in, Ipswich got it all todo and a couple of tricky games against Boro and Southampton.
Love to see them do it.

Years ago I was chatting to an Arsenal fan who’s business was organising travel to Europe for football fans , he was approached by well known Millwall lads to and ended up organising the charter planes when they got into Europe after the cup final.

He took a big gamble with their reputation , which paid off .

A few weeks later the same lads had a whip-round for him and presented him with a very nice watch in gratitude.

I have a mate who's a life long Millwall fan. Took me drinking in Deptford (the London one) with all his friends last time we played them. Was a great time, they all knew their football and had a lot of respect and admiration for SAFC. Very similar fan base, tough area, tough people but decent and absolutely no nonsense. I imagine they have a fair share of arsehole like any club but the lads I met were all completely sound with me.

Was exactly the same when they were up previously for our home game/s against them. Drinking down Roker, they love the pubs, the cheap beer. Not so keen on the wind off the North Sea mind, my mate said he'd never been up here when it hasn't been cold, they all had overcoats on while most of us were in tops and sweatshirts.

I'd rather Millwall came up than Ipswich or Coventry even if it is another Lahndon team in the PL. Sadly barring a complete and unlikely collapse I think Coventry is nailed on now. Think Boro will stay in a PO spot and ultimately not go up. The thought of Wrexham winning at Wembley fills me with foreboding. The wankfest on Sky would be unbearable.

This. However, he thought he was backing a better horse. In that sense we massively gave him the bird in the long run though. So couldn't really give a shite what he does in his career now.

Nothing better than someone f***ing you over and then having to live with the regret when you do better. Probably life's most satisfying thing.

Millwall will have a very tough time staying up if they are promoted this season. Obviously as a Sunderland fan I am not saying that will be impossible for them but as we know its a huge ask.

Hopefully Southampton will be in the play offs instead of Wrexham, can see play offs being boro millwall, Southampton, then hopefully hull pip Wrexham for last place Ipswich and Coventry to go up automatically

Their FA Cup semi final could prove somewhat of a distraction, mind.

Do Ipswich not have the tougher run in than Millwall?

I just can't shake this feeling that Wrexham are going to Wembley. Foreboding as I said.
