Ross Stewart

Was with my mate who’s an Arsenal fan watching it last night and I said at the start of the game “watch out for their no. 11”

She was like “who?”

So I told her about how mint he is, how he used to play for Sunderland, Loch Ness drogba, etc

She was being all Arsenal big bollocks about it

Needless to say I had the last laugh

His goal last night was straight out of the Niall Quinn text book like, chest down and one touch finish.
It was. Effortlessly made the space, perfect chest control and good finish. I don’t doubt Stewart is good enough for premier league football but obviously he hasn’t been reliable injury wise. He’s worth a punt for someone but probably not us, he’d be excellent business for a promotion side if the could get 20 games out of him.

The commentator last night on Sky? last night mentioned that, "how he used to play for Sunderland, Loch Ness drogba, etc"

Pleased for him, his career could well have been over after that injury. Was in the warm up v Boro just a few games into our first season back in the championship, as I remember it, seems like an age ago now. His goals were a major part of us getting out of League 1 and wish him all the best for the future

No, he’s a very good player like Alese but will never play anywhere near ten or twelve games in a row.

Injuries take their toll, especially with taller players.
Stewart didn't miss a game in that promotion season and was the reason we got out of L1.

Alese on the other hand has not strung more than 8 consecutive appearnces together for us. His first season he appeared 21 times in total.

Not really a comparison.

Stewart had a career threatening injury and with these type of layoffs, subsequent niggles always occur. Hope the the worse is behind him and he goes to the world cup.
