If we qualify for Europe

What are you saying. Without context of their position in n the league before and after Europe that means nothing.

They have gone from almost getting in the top 6 to almost being relegated.
I'll assume you mean Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal as the top 6.
Here's the league position of the season they qualified and the season they completed. I hope it makes sense.

18/19 Wolves. 7th. 7th
19/20. Leicester. 5th. 5th
20/21. Leicester. 5th 8th
West Ham. 6th 7th
21/22. West Ham. 7th 14th
22/23 West Ham. 14th 7th
Villa. 7th. 4th
Brighton. 6th. 11th
Newcastle. 4th. 7th
23/24. Villa. 4th. 6th
24/25. Newcastle. 5th. 12th.
Forest. 7th 16th
Palace. 12th. 14th

On average a non top 6 club drops 2 league places while competing in Europe.

That's a lot of work. So on average they did absolutely fine, not a single one was relegated, albeit Forest could be the outlier still.

Yes, the don't qualify doom mongers have bought into the
myth that Europe destroys your season.

With Forest I'd put their season down to having a lunatic owner rather than playing in Europe.

10 of those examples performed worse in the Prem, that's not progress. Given the new FFP rules and financial benefits of the Conference, I'd not object to playing the U21s if we qualify.

Most of them are clubs who aren't expected to get Europe every year tbf. Never gonna get linear progress

A good run in Europe is worth dropping 2 places in the PL.
Why can't we be one of the teams that don't drop any places?

'cos there's little to no benefit qualifying for lesser European comps for a Premier League club.
West Ham won the Conference League, what an incredible moment that must have been for their fans, probably the best they'll see. We've finished in the top 10 three times in living memory and we have people looking down on European football.

Next seasons squad wouldn’t struggle. If anything it helps us.

Here’s why…

We will sign only 4 or 5 players this summer all who will go straight into the first team according to FG.

So that’s four or five extra players on top of the current squad.
We don’t need to sell anyone therefore unless they ask to leave no one is going anywhere again according to FG.

That’s a lot of players who need to be kept happy and need to be playing football on a regular basis.
An extra 10/16 games does that.

Getting into Europe helps us not hinders us. It keeps 20 players happy. It increases revenue. It also means that we’ve got a much bigger and better squad that’s also playing more games which means overall quality increases.

Essentially we have a league team and a cups team. Imagine the progress the likes of Rigg and Mayenda would make playing 20 games next season.

No offence mate, but you talk unbridled shit

Finish above the Mags, will top off a successful season for me. A couple of top quality additions in the summer and become a top 8 side next year.
If Europe comes this year grab it if not no worries
Here we go, the usual responses of “it’s too soon” etc
One poster even said we got promoted too soon ffs.
Who in their right mind would not want us to finish as high as possible and give us a taste of Europe?
Carabao cup and Conference League would be our squad players match time.
If we have aspirations of being a top half prem team, which we do, we need to embrace extra games.
It would have been tough without 150M spent on new players. I didn't see that coming ,if you did ,can you post this week's lotto numbers ?

There’s an article about a summer rebuild on inews but it’s behind a paywall if anyone knows how to view it.

On reflection it’s probably better we don’t get promoted to the PL, we’ll really struggle, straight back down and the humiliation of six easy points for the Mags.
Atm we do not have the squad to play twice a week, too many times in a season.
I would fear for our league position!
Also it's only the Champions league that coughs up enough money to make it worthwhile.

No, but it will happen again next season, and we will get stronger each year we stay in the Prem.
Getting into Europe might actually encourage the owners to actually strengthen more.
Things are different now.

Tell that to West Ham fans when they won it or Palace fans who have travelled all over Europe

Still with our European history we are above "lesser" competitions
