last season we didnt have a squad for the Premier League.

if we get Europe Gisolfi can build a whole new squad.
Much prefer Europa to the Conference though

he can get in more European youngsters, that has been our strategy to now, throw them into competitive games and build them up to see if theyre Premier standard or move on . like weve just done with Adingra.

SAFC fans not wanting to play games in Europe shock. you couldnt make it up.

I’d love to be in the Europa. I don’t give a shit about the Conference League. I’ve never watched a game of it.
 
We'll cross the Euro bridge when we come to it, but at the moment it seems to me a bridge too far.

Depending on where you go in Europe, some are lot more appealing than others - some are downright dangerous ,- with locals still believing the English scalp to be the most prized. And the policing in some countries makes you wonder if it's worth it.
Avoid Rome at all costs.

A shitload more games, and it would mean playing Thursday/Sunday for a lot of weeks as well. So massive pressures on the squad and lots of teams struggle with that schedule so players would have to be managed and rotated properly so they aren't all fucked physically and league form goes down the shitter

Saying that, even the conference league would be immense for the club if we want to press on
 
I can understand both side to the argument TBF. Conference league will be against teams no one has heard of. and if it affects next seasons league campaign while also cutting our spend capacity then that doesn't sound too appealing at this stage, but Europa league against some bigger names will be a class experience . Every place we finish higher up is £3 million more for the club so let's just try to get as many points as possible and see what happens

There is only one side to the argument.
We can do both.
 
The 8 teams in the QF of the Conference League are:

Palace
Strasbourg
Mainz
Rayo Vallecano
AEK Athens
AZ Alkmaar
Shaktar Donetsk
Fiorentina

We're capable of winning it if we get in it, which is mental considering how recently we were in the Championship and League One. It'd be class.

One thing is for sure, Xhaka would be unable at 35 ( next season ) to play 2 games a week. Without him playing we are relegation fodder unless Ghisolfi brings in someone of equivalent quality etc and RLB finds a way of playing without him that doesnt involve Hume being captain and playing in MF

You can’t always be shitting your pants at what might go wrong imo. Get stuck in and get as many points as we can. If we qualify for Europe, get stuck right into that as well and enjoy it.

One thing is for sure. At no stage next season will he be 35 at any time during the season. He will be 35 at the very end of September which will be the season AFTER next season. Just pointing out facts. I agree he probably can't do 2 matches a week as he has played 27 times for us this season and we are not relegation fodder , but apart from you being incorrect on both of your points, I think I understand your point.......Nah It's gone. I don't understand it as he hasn't done that this season either. Explain more and we won't have the AFCON next season either

TBH I have paid no notice to the conference league and a trip to some of them places (I won't get an away ticket as an exile, ) I can see been appealing to our away fans . Ah sod it let's gan for it.
