Durham v Kent (h) C.C. ( 3/4/26)

That prick Crawley would’ve dropped it if he was in an England shirt.

Commentators curse too, literally the ball after mentioning how the change bowlers hadn’t backed up the openers. FFS 🤦‍♂️

So casual from Bedingham that's a continuation of his mindset batting for us last season.

Very much so, my concern was/is that he’s become complacent, perhaps even too arrogant (that’s not intended as a criticism of him) and has fallen into a trap of either underestimating the bowling or thinking he can score off every ball. Or both.

Good to see Clark batting at 5 ahead of Ackermann.

Agree its that "I'm to good for this standard" vibe he us giving off. Normally results in lots of flashy 30s and 40s.

Fully agree on Bedders. He needs to get back to the hungry/greedy lad he was prior to last season.

As for Clark, I’d have them the other way round just because I prefer Clark having a license to go after the bowling and he’s more likely, more often to have that opportunity at 6 than 5.

That was a glorious drive though, which deserved to go to the rope.
Gay with the first raise of the bat of 2026.
I2

That's the way the head coach tells them how to play. That's from the coach who's never played CC cricket. Our management haven't realised that the fault mind lie with them not the players.

He’s given a couple of hints in interviews that he may actually be ‘learning’ his lesson. We may see the lads going at 4 an over instead of 5

I genuinely think Clark deserves his chance to bat in the top 5 and prove he is good enough. I think it would be a kick in the teeth if Ackermann batted ahead of him when he wasn't in the original squad.

Fair one, I hope he scores millions and proves his worth. Don’t get me wrong, I do like the lad, I just think Ackermann’s style is more suited to 5 than Clark’s.

As a wider point on Ackermann, I know a lot of people have lost patience with him, but given his performances in 2024 there’s definitely a player in there and I like the added dimension he gives the team with his all-round game.

4 overs short in the first session, despite starting early. Poor start.

Look no doubt Ackermann is a better bat especially in 1st class cricket but I just feel Clark has not been given the chance to show he can bat in the engine room of the middle order.
As far as Ackermann goes by the end of last season it looked like he had the batting "yips". I hope he gets his game back he is a proven county batsmen.

Got the winning combination of the YouTube stream lined perfectly up to the BBC audio.

Great to hear Marty again, he’s with Dan Whiting and Mel Farrell who are both excellent too.
