Artemis 2 Going back to the moon.

Your parents didn't have you tested did they?
There are very valid questions about the moon landing. Nasa struggled to get two astronauts back from 350 miles up in 2025 but sent a mission in '69 successfully to a satellite planet 250,000 miles away landed, had a mess about, phone call with the president and relaunched and made it back home all intact?

Surely you cant be naive enough to question the logic.

I hope I'm wrong but it's just not believable.

If there was even a chance the US didn't make it to the moon the Soviets would've let everyone know about it.

Just because you don't understand how they did it( very easily googled) doesn't mean it's a conspiracy you moron.
You really do think you know more than everyone else and only you are clever enough to see the lies that are being perpetrated for some unknown reason.
You aren't clever. You're thick.

I mean I have a degree in mechanical engineering and calculus is the basis of my job but yeah. I'm thick. What is your degree?

Must just lack any ability to realise that not everything is not real. It must be awful being you and having no faith in anything but YouTube conspiracy nuts. It’s sad.

Erm what? Surely you've contradicted yourself here
You can be well educated in certain areas but still thick as mince when it comes to other things.

I know a few engineers who are good in their narrow field but are absolute morons in day to day life.
Good for you.

Far and away the most compelling evidence.

I do believe they went to the moon. For the above reason among others. I wouldnt be shocked if the photos were staged though.

I can't believe this thread has descended into conspiracy nonsense. In 2019 Chandrayann-2 orbited the moon and took photos of the equipment and tracks left by Apollo 11 and 12. It is an Indian spacecraft launched by an Indian rocket, but I suppose somehow they were in on it too?

Im a bit behind on this but were the Apollos just in a lower orbit?

Apollo 13 currently holds the distance record at 248,655 but they needed to get back sharpish so didn't hang around. Artemis is aiming for about 250,000 miles. The other Apollo's did a burn around the other side to slow down and get into orbit of 100-110km or so.

I seem to remember a line in one of the books about it where they stated the height and one of the astronauts said something along the lines of, "100km is fine, but it's the 101km mountain on the other side you want to worry about"

NASA’s rocket is based on decades old tried and tested technology, which is ‘one’ use only, so yes it’s tried and tested.

SpaceX on the other hand are building a never before seen technology that is fully reusable, that is 4 times more powerful and are currently onto test flight 11 (this month hopefully), so yes there have been SpaceX explosions as you correctly point out, but NASA had the same mishaps while testing new technologies in the 60’s, it was just more ‘in secret’

Spacex are after the holy grail of space travel ‘reusability’, they hope to launch starship everyday in the future, blimey the falcon 9 from SpaceX currently does launch almost everyday, and some ships are heading towards 30 launches, which is incredible but proves starship is ‘possible’

One of the main criticisms during the early stages of Mercury (in particular the failures of the Atlas booster) was that the rockets did nothing but blow up wheras the Russians seemed to be having success after success. There's a great scene in 'The Right Stuff' (movie not series) which used a lot of the footage. Gene Krantz (Failure is not an option) goes into detail on the 4 inch flight where the Redstone booster ignited, immediately shut down and the entire flight programme ran in about 4 seconds, the escape tower launched off the capsule which was still attached, then the parachutes popped open. It left the entire thing unsupported, loaded with fuel and at risk of toppling over due to the parachute catching the wind. One suggestion was to shoot at it with a rifle which would cause the fuel to boil off quicker. Whether the guy suggesting it meant "boil off in a massive explosion" or not was never revealed.
