Geertruida incident

I noticed on one of the highlight videos it shows sadiki mimicking what he did. Which foes against that boro bloke who was trying to say he only said something about his beard
I was under the impression it was a gesture rather than words as I noticed sadiki doing that as well. I was fairly confident this fella would get caught as a gesture rather than spoken words surely make it much easier to identify the culprit on camera.

Coincidently, I have received a reply to my complaint to the BBC today:

Dear Mr **********

Thank you for contacting us about Look North (North East and Cumbria).

We acknowledge your concerns with our coverage of the Tyne/Wear Derby.

The incident that interrupted the match, and the arrest of fans before the start of the game, were covered in the late evening BBC Look North (NE&C) bulletin broadcast on 22 March and on the Breakfast bulletins on 23 March. The incident was also reported on the main BBC One news evening bulletins on 22 March.

Please be assured there is no agenda in our coverage and our reporting of the incidents did give context to the circumstances that occurred both during, before and after the match as well as comment from Northumbria Police.

We're grateful to you for taking the time to raise your concerns with us, which have been shared with the programme team at Look North.

We very much value your feedback. Complaints are sent to senior management and we’ve included your points in our overnight reports. These reports are among the most widely read sources of feedback in the BBC. This ensures that your concerns have been seen by the right people quickly, and helps to inform decisions about current and future content.

If you’d like to understand how your complaint is handled at the BBC, you might find it helpful to watch . It explains the BBC’s process for responding to complaints, what to do if you aren’t happy with your response and how we share the feedback we receive.

Kind regards,

James Curran

Agreed, jail time and make an example that others will think twice about the repercussions before they partake next time.
While I think this lad deserves everything he gets including a nice long stadium ban I don’t think jail time is right for an offence like this. If he has a job there is chances he’s gonna lose it, a banning order and season ticket removed. I’m not sure a jail term is right for this considering what goes without a jail term these days not sure a racist gesture at a football game warrants a jail term.
Wow

Calling for a jail sentence only to set a precedent for the future.

Not wishing to get involved in politics but there have been people convicted and jailed for posting bollocks on Facebook, which is the lesser of two evils imho.

Our justice system is broken mate, you see abuses, people with hundreds of convictions getting suspended sentences or fines etc. while I hate racists and racism having mixed race family myself I’ve seen the hurt it can cause. When child abusers, people physically assaulting others get no jail terms I don’t think a one off gesture however abhorrent I think it is should carrying a custodial sentence.
