30,000+ season tickets sold

Was capped at 38k general season tickets, 3k corporate season tickets, and around 3k go on general sale with 3k away allocation.
Still a lot higher than a lot of other clubs then, sure I seen a list not long ago. Newcastle cap theirs at around 32-33k I believe. Sure I read Liverpool’s was only in the 20k’s, but over 30k with hospitality season tickets lobbed in. Scandalous that really for a ground of Anfield’s size but just shows how much these clubs are now not as arsed about local fans and happy to milk it from day trippers.

As for a lot of Saturday games, have people not looked at the Premier League fixtures over the last five years to notice the amount of games that aren't played at 3 pm on a Saturday, surely they cannot be surprised by this

I know it's not surprising, but it may have been an inconvenience that people were willing to put up with for one season, given we were favourites to go down

But after a while it might not make sense for some people who can't make midweek games and/or Sunday games.

Personally, I hate any kick off time that isn't a Saturday.

Bet loads still thing it’s auto renew yes a know the club has stated its not but you always get people not checking.
A lot of people don’t go on websites or have Sunderland social media I know I had to tell me cousin she had to manually renew. Whatever is left will go right away anyway due to the waiting list just hope there’s not many disappointed kids that have parents unaware.

A couple of coffees a week???😂😂😂😂

£300-£350 per year depends if you like expensive coffee. Say £3 a coffee , twice per week, 52 weeks.

I get mine from mcds it's £1.69 but only cos it's 0630 in the morning and no local places are open

We got a leaflet through the door for the one we hadn't renewed yet

I genuinely cannot believe that any Sunderland fan would not renew their season ticket following how brilliantly we have done this season, unless it is not financially viable for them to of course.

That's right, the visitors hardly ever have a Saturday game.

Yeah she said she’d got one a few days after I had told her she had to go on the website. Whatever is left will go pretty quickly.

Yes, i believe its only Manchester United (52k), Spurs (45k) and Arsenal, West Ham and Man City (40k) that have more season ticket holders than us.

It’s also been mentioned at home games since Feb 🤷‍♂️

Something has gone tits up with mine, says the following subscriptions can’t be renewed online, it seems these seats are already occupied, contact back office!!!

Wouldn't shock me if people didn't renew , these would be fed back into general admissions which the club can make more money with

I don’t think it’s necessarily a cynical thing about attracting high-spending day trippers. That might be true of Man Utd, Liverpool and the big London clubs, but keeping a decent allocation available for general sale is the only way to get new, younger fans involved. Otherwise it becomes a fans closed shop with no opportunity to get new fans on board.

It’s about getting the balance right between rewarding loyalty, and not being too exclusive.
