Forthcoming gigs.

Saw Phoebe Riley May at Lubber Kitchen in Newcastle last night. She made some great sounds with various contraptions and a laptop that was a treat for my ears. My first visit to a really nice small venue that felt full with about 25 people there. There was the option to pay a bit extra for entry that included food from 6. I was solo so only went for the music but recommend a visit.

I saw the London Symphonic Rock Orchestra at the weekend. They were brilliant. All a bit silly, but rock and metal on classic instruments. It was the last of their tour but well worth watching out for them coming around again. I think it was only £15 or something.

They don't have a lot on YouTube but here is one of theirs

Turns out the whole night is an absolute sham and Manis kids wont even be getting the proceeds from it
I was looking at this as the line up is decent enough but not for £80 and that’s proper shite that it’s not even going to his kids.
I did see something recently that Rowetta posted about Mani’s kids not being included in things - might have been related to the Brits

What's the crack there like mate?

There was talk in papers over weekend likes of Oasis and Stone Roses appearing

This morning of one of Manis sons has come out and said its not true as well as claiming it is even for them which was it was originally mentioned. They've claimed their uncle will be getting money and he's done nothing to help them.

Thought it sounded too good to be true when saw it advertised last week. Shan behaviour.

Got to be honest, if it was through there and she was wearing a Newcastle top, I would say it was needless

It does go against my usual policy but it was just for the encore. I assume someone had gifted her it before the show, 'Barnett 10' on the back.

Gorillaz was decent. Visually very good, musically tight, left me a bit cold at times but I went because my lad fancied it rather than it being my choice.

Next up Crystal Tides on Friday

I loved it….thought they got it perfect with the setlist being a blend of old and new…..glad I got to see Mos Def, Pos and Bootie with them too.

Only disappointment was we were in the wings of the arena and the visuals were a little lost on us at times.

I took a Durham mag to this and he audibly groaned when this happened. I wouldnt normally advocate this kind of thing but I did allow myself a little chuckle in this instance.

Otherwise he had a lovely time. We both agreed that Courtney Barnett was absolutely mint.

Richard Ashcroft in Leeds next for me. And then Michael Head, Bearded Theory, Beta Band. Cant remember if anything else.
