O'Nien

Fair play to him. He made a mistake which could have been career defining but he played on and put in a solid shift. Shows the character of the lad.

Shame on the bed wetters who wanted him taking off immediately and banished from the club.
Its a bizarre mentaltiy. theres clearly some who really want him to be shite. hes more than held his own in the games hes played and has played a massive role in our revivial, why some are so keen to jump on him is beyond me

Just hope that rather getting a media job (he's good on screen and is a pretty face) he gets through his coaching badges and he eventually works at the Academy as he's the model professional.

Classic example of a professional footballer who has got absolutely everything out of the talent he has.
Ànd à classic example of the type of character every club needs
Could have folded as could the team after that mistake but came back to help get the win
Part of two away wins when coming into the side ànd filling in
Im delighted for him and Riggy ( Riggy will take some shifting now )

At half time I thought him and ellborg looked a liability at times and we weren’t going to get anything.
Great second half from everyone though.
Learnt me lesson 🔴⚪🔴⚪

I Said it in another thread, he made a mistake, he owned it and got better, his reaction was immense and his tears at the 2nd goal and the final whistle showed how much it gutted him.

I love the lad and he absolutely loves us back.

It’s when he is no longer at the club and comes back when he is no longer a footballer you will remember him

Sunderland through and through.
Made up for you mate ⚽

He's a cracking bloke, a role model for young players everywhere, but we simply can't be in a position to have to start him in Premier League games.

People will cite the Leeds game but Alderete was by a million miles the true man of the match that night and Luke should have had a penalty given against him early doors which would have changed the whole game.
And yet the 2 premier league games he’s played 90 minutes- we won both. He made a mistake. Bounced back from it.

And he wouldn’t be in the team if Ballard. Mukiele, Reinaldo and Cirkin hadn’t been injured. Hes essentially 5th choice behind Aldrete, Muliele, Ballard and Geertruida. Are you realistically gonna get a 5th choice utility man in than is better than him. I don’t think so
