Support? How many games do they do?Aye, agree with him. My brother and father in law support Arsenal but are from Durham, they'll never feel the anxiety or emotion involved when they play Spurs or the full exhilaration when they inevitably win the league this season.
I'm sure they'll enjoy those things but it's not like they interact with their rivals on a daily basis or have that sense of belonging when at the Emirates.
Spot on. I never give any of them the satisfaction of asking 'who have you got theirs weekend ' etc. I couldn't care less. It's even worse now we are playing these teams again. I know a few who support villa for some reason, that isn't as bad I suppose as it's not for the glory at least, they aren't old enough to be around when they win stuffAbsolutely spot on this, few of my mates from the north east and are either Liverpool, Manchester United fans I don’t get it

Pretty much my thoughts too.I can't stand the Tit but He talks a wee bit of sense there like........![]()
He’s spot on. Durham mags living by the river Wear supporting the mags and slagging Sunderland off
Haven’t got a clue. And it means now. I may as well say I support Barcelona and my team walloped them 7-2. It just doesn’t work.
Very few, particularly BiL. Father in law sometimes gets to the games up here, I think they've been to a few Wembley finals as well.Support? How many games do they do?
Those reasons are usually due to family influence? My siblings and our kids support SAFC but we were born in the midlands. Parents moved from County Durham in 1960s. Thousands of people moved to midlands coalfields. Other people will support a club because they win things?…
You could have someone 150 miles away who for whatever reason has followed the club since they were a toddler and they'll be living and breathing everything about the club and the players and the history.
Life and society has moved on from being born in a village and never leaving. People/families move all around the country for education and jobs, part of that sort of globalisation is being able to get attached to things that they weren't born into
This ^^^Support who you want, take enjoyment as you please.
He comes across as a canny bloke. Think he would be canny to have a pint with.
Has he shoved one up his arse like, otherwise can't see itHe’s got an Oscar in him
