Early leavers and final whistle on Sunday

Every club has early leavers in fairness. Football fans have changed over the years and many just got to watch the PL brand rather than SAFC. For night games it’ll be a public transport issue fundamentally, we are still living in the 19th century when it comes to that. In recent weeks we’ve just been horrendous, I stayed till the end on Saturday but I felt like walking out after Brighton scored as you knew it wasn’t our day.
I would suggest we have a bigger proportion of early leavers than most clubs

We certainly did when Quinn was here. Supporters met with the club to discuss big crowd surfer flags being introuduced before kick off. The club mentioned visiting other grounds in the league and flagged the issue of us having a larger % of late comers. As part of that review they also found we had larger % of earlier leavers.

I’ve posted this many times before on this subject but they need to make the exit and getting away from the ground easier for people….

I was in a box on Saturday and 15 mins after the final whistle there’s people still making their way out of the east stand and Roker end. There needs to be exists out the back of the stands. Like we had at Roker Park at the end.

The two massive tunnels at the SWC and the NWC also need to be exists for those who sit in the lower bowl of the stands. I mean the full tunnel not a little side but like you get in SWC.

The club and police also need to close all roads around the ground especially KHW and have it filled up with P&R buses sat there waiting to fill up. None leave until 15/20 mins after final whistle and the once full and ready to leave the police manage the traffic lights so that the buses get a clear ride to Sunderland Enterprise Park … the police used to do this at Roker Park which was further away and we had crowds half the size !!! It’s also a much safer way of controlling the flow of people than the absolute shit show it currently is on KHW … someone will get seriously hurt one day on that road.
Our stadium isn’t that bad to get out of in all fairness - there are a lot worse places in the PL. Elland Road is ridiculous to get out of, must have taken us 20 minutes to get out of there the other week. Not many exits from the seats then only one exit from the concourse.

KHW was worse than ever on Saturday

There was one arsehole flying down, revving their car etc etc

It will take someone being killed or seriously injured before they do something about it

I know its been raised before and the Council say its too inconvenient for the residents to close it for half an hour 19 times a year but surely it cannot be that bad. They manage it for concerts

West Ham and Brighton are definitely worse, both have public transportation issues from what I understand. Old Trafford has always been bad too, St James notoriously bad too until the oil money came in. The Hungarian at Liverpool actually criticised fans for leaving early, they are the club I least associate with doing it I would say, so it’s defo across the board.

Good points. But how many people have been hurt over the past 30 years?

no idea but it’s worse now than it’s ever been along KHW. On at least 3 occasions this season the police have allowed away coaches to park along the road which was fun

There not a single house on KHW so not sure how it impacts residents 🤣🤣

But it could very easily be loads better is my main point. The tunnels could be put to use immediately for example

I have noticed it at West Ham earlier in the season, but not especially anywhere else. I accept its across the board but not in the same numbers as us. Just my opinion

Same way they couldnt ticket the cars parked on the double yellows I assume. Apparently wasn't safe enough for the wardens and police ain't interested

I went to the city ground to watch the England ladies the other week.

The bottle neck was horrific
