Le Bris visibility shaken!

Overall we weren’t too bad and actually looked to shoot/cross a bit more.
The goal was a horror show but a total fluke. Mis hits it and that’s probably the only way it was going in. Diarra being down would have stopped play 99 times out of a hundred and certainly affected the outcome. I thought Xhaka might have been playing them on but have seen one still shot angle where he’s not on the pitch so couldn’t be. I haven’t watched it back though.
Basically we should have defended better but it took a lot of unlikely things to actually concede and other wise we’d looked okay.

Not sure the obsession with throwing on players who more than likely aren't good enough.

We are still in the game at 1-0 down so he will have players on the pitch who he feels can get us back into the game.
Felt like the result was pretty much guaranteed from about 70 odd minutes so I’d argue there was no harm in just rolling the dice a bit. Cirkin should have been on earlier (and for Hume). Abdullahi should have been on the bench simply because Isidor was too unfit to play it seems. A late run of outright 4-4-2 might have given Brighton something else to think about. Let’s face it they’d sussed out the starters and played the closing stages largely in slippers.

And even if the loss was already locked in, subs could provide a useful data point for the future. If someone like Whittaker (who consistently impressed for the u21s) comes on and handles the physicality while having one or two good moments on the ball, maybe he gets a boost in the medium term. You can’t always know for certain how a player will do till you try him.

Just seen the post match interview and was struck by how visibly shaken Le Bris was. He looked scared and nervous like I haven't seen all season.

For the record I thought we were much better today. I thought we were ok the rough side of decisions today. I've still not seen a conclusive angle, but I'm certain their lad in front of the keeper is offside when they sliced the ball into the net, an he's the only reason our keeper didn't stop it! But that's a seperate point.

Le abroad must be feeling the heat now? Especially when he's witnessed how cut throat we are now.
Did his hi-vis vest get left behind?
Can't say I'm picking that up, having just watched his interview there.
That's why he should have the vest on.😁

If we'd had a few more players available, we'd have likely won the game. Our injury list is too much. We could and should have still got a point.

Creating opportunities and scoring goals is clearly a problem for us. I'm unsure how we address this as we didn't score many goals in the Championship either. Sign better players I guess, players who can score. And develop the players we have.

It was a fairly open game in the most part. Second half, the first 20/25 minutes we should have won it but you don't take your chances, well...... As for Regis, his post match left me scratching my head. So much so, I must have been to a different match to him. Anyone notice that the players gave him a wide berth yesterday at the end?

My understanding is that if a player is off the back of the pitch he is deemed to be on the goal line for offside purposes

Hate that tactic. Seems to do nowt but invite pressure on. Did we do it as much at the start of the season and I’m wearing rose tinted specs, or does it seem to have increased lately at the same time as we have seemed to become a lot more negative and boring to watch? I’d far rather we just went more direct to Brobbey and get people running off him and see what happens. Lot more exciting if nowt else.
There should be a balance between the two. Not trying to do it every single time.

Especially when we aren’t very good at it!!!!!!!!

I don’t know what we are worse at:
1) Playing out from the back.
2) Corners and throw ins.
3) Supporting Brobbey when he’s in possession.

Lets not forget we have some really good players who have done exceptionally well. The origianal target has been met so lets not chuck the baby out with the bathwater. With improvements to the squad over the summer hopefully the target will be higher and we go into next season optimistically. Maybe we all got a bit carried away with how well we were doing and our expectations grew a bit too much. Probably a bit more than the squad were capable of. Personally I'm quite happy every game is not a matter of relegation.
