You are no closer to the likes of Man City now than you were when Steve Bruce was manager, the elite sides in the league have got that little bit better in terms of squad size. That showed yesterday. 10 changes and they still beat you with ease. You’ll beat us end of the month and probably end up 3-5 points above us, but the fact is when yous were took over, deep down, you all thought challenging for the major trophies was inevitable.

They were always deluded, but the takeover has taken it to another level. They honestly believe they are an “elite” club like Man Utd or Liverpool, because they’ve won one League Cup in 70 years and their owners have a few quid. They genuinely can’t understand why players would choose to sign for those clubs over the mags. They live in a self-perpetuating bubble where anything and everything has to revolve around the toon - they’ve actually become a parody of themselves. They think everyone else admires them for it, when in reality, the rest of the country just laugh at them and take the piss. They’re the most fragile, needy, self-important, insecure, attention-seeking fanbase on the planet. Oh, and they still can’t beat little ol’ Sunderland.
