More erasing of history...

Fair enough, marra - I respect you for acknowledging this.

Tbh if you were coming on saying Churchill was an evil figure who needs whitewashed from history I’d take issue with that too, so I’m not saying you don’t have a point in the wider debate.

Fair enough, and I'm not a fan of Churchill. He changed political sides when it suited his personal ambitions, meaning not my cup of tea, and he didn't fight anyone on the beaches. But, I can see the point from those who want the historical figures on the notes, the point being that a left-wing ideology that is built upon a load of self proclaimed hype is not about being bothered about animals, it's about imposing their politics.

There still will be just some animals now, I would hope it will be animals that need protections.

As soon as the new bank notes come out you can guarantee someone will film an angry Phil Mitchell lookalike burning one of the new notes in protest.

Cods. Give us an example.
What does cods mean?

There is an ongoing debate in academia - the decolonising the curriculum debate - as well as in wider life about aspects of British history ever since the dawn of imperial England: WW2, slavery, empire, the birth of the NHS, the Industrial Revolution - all are discussed and debated when looking at the legacy of our history. It’s the sign of healthy democracy that they are, but name-calling and sloganeering are the antithesis of this.

The anger from the gb news lot is hilarious. The notes aren't being replaced, the BOE are just issuing new notes with something else on.

So who is being erased?
Oh dear, well it’s beneath you to dismiss my view with uncivil and hollow little buzzwords like that.

Nobody is being erased man! But there’s a scholarly and cultural debate about Churchill and all other aspects of our history - I’ve mentioned a few. Surely you know this? That’s not a bad thing - it’s just how history moves along. As Hegel outlined you get a thesis (Churchill as hero and war leader, standing alone against Hitler when the odds were against us), then you get an antithesis reaction (Bengal famine, views of other races and working class), then a more balanced perspective emerges (synthesis) which acknowledges the limitations of the two extreme positions.

So nobody is being erased? At last. And all you can complain about is the usual educational discussion/enquiry around history?

People dismissed The Imperial Presidency by Schlesinger when it was first published but Trump is showing how far the concept can be pushed. No doubt you would have complained that Schlesinger was erasing history and that Nixon was a good chap.

Thesis. Antithesis. Synthesis.

It's not erasing history FFS.
