I think it’s absolutely shite the club aren’t doing more for these fans that can’t afford or don’t see value now that prices have gone up and have been there when the club were on its knees. Fair enough you can’t please everyone but it’s shite

Not being able to please everyone does not equate to shitting on them either.

The club changed the t&Cs and now want to hold to them... not fair. There should be some accommodation for situations the club created.

I might be very stupid about this stuff but why can't the BCB ST holders now be offered ST's elsewhere under different packages?

So had an email from club confirming that if I don’t take up
I’ve had a season ticket for 38 years. Last 4 seasons I’ve been lucky enough to have a seat in one of the boxes, I pay it myself and don’t have a company to write it off into. It’s gone from £2400 per season (L1) to next season £5k.
Totally understand the increase and we want the club to be successful. I can’t however afford the £5k and to be honest the service/food is extremely average, it’s not worth the money as an individual really. We don’t even get a bottle of mineral water on the table included and drinks are separate. It’s also only going to keep going up as long as we are in the prem.

So I asked our account manager if I can swap to a GA seat; was told I’d have to just join the waiting list. I complained and said it’s not fair or reasonable for somebody with 38yrs consecutive season ticket to go to the back of the waiting list. Her responce……send an email to ask/safc.com. I was shocked at this, unprofessional and the person involved shouldn’t have any position handling customers.
I reckon I’ve put in £13k last 4 seasons when there have been boxes empty and the club desperate for corporate clients.

It’s left me feeling really upset but mainly angry at how they have handled it and treated loyal fans. Never expected it from Sunderland to be honest.

I’ve been told now they are “looking into it” but right now after 51 seasons since my first game, I have no idea if I will have a ticket next year! And you know if I get screwed over, I would never go back ever
so just an update, been told via email that there is no mechanism to transfer to a normal season ticket, and that I need to join the waiting list (which they happily shared is now at 8k). So any corporates with decades of loyalty but who can’t afford the new prices just join the back of the waiting list. Charming

Looks like I will be spending my weekends with the grandkids a lot more after all.

Would have thought the owner would have learnt from the mags fa cup fiasco and the criticism of fans groups in the past, you never shit on your loyalest fans.

That there is absolutely shocking.

What on earth.

I would give people like you first choice of available tickets before the people on the waiting list how could anyone think that's not fair

You are applying common sense and fairness though, the sub contracted ticket management company don’t have either of those as values
Exactly, only need to offer a priority window 24 hours before. Another own goal.
Apparently that’s very challenging for the software team at Seat Geak

They had the Concessions Corners when the stadium first opened. I can’t remember how long they lasted, mind.

Disgusting mate, hope you get something sorted though but I wouldn’t hold your breath.
You probably read my numerous posts about my ST of 34 years being cancelled last summer and the club doing nothing to help.

They don’t need the likes of us any more.

I don't particularly like the club's stance on this.

Can I afford the Founders with spread payments? Yes. Do I like it in there and extract some value out of it? Yes. However, I would like the choice to not renew the package (bearing in mind it was sold as a 'top up' and I could choose any seat) and not be penalised and have to go to the back of the queue, even if I do have to shift seats.

I don't have as many years on the clock as others, but I have had a season card in 18 of the last 20 years (one of those missed was the COVID year) and I don't see why I should have to go to the back of the queue to move.

If the Founders seat was released (and I moved to general admission), a newbie on the waiting list could take it.

I would just add that I have added myself to the general admission waiting list, even though I'm not necessarily going to give up the Founders package. I would just like the choice.

I suspect the club are in a position that once the renewals period is over, the Founders package will not be very attractive due to the lack of seats available.
Imagine a new couple of punters rocking up and being told the seats are together and are in different stands.
All the more reason to make it just an add on.
Big cock up imo.
