Pre season announced

Funnily enough just back from both places….was in Nashville Friday to Monday then flew to NY Tuesday before flying back to UK Friday night.

It will be class….been to NYC loads so know how good it is there, but Nashville was a hoot.

As already mentioned, Broadway is relentless and you can’t fail to have a good time if you’re a fan of beer, music, daytime drinking, rooftop terraces and Sun….couple that with great food (Nashville hot chicken and BBQ were tremendous) and really friendly people.

It’s really walkable, we were in the Gulch which was about 15 mins from downtown. Never needed Ubers or taxi other than the airport run.

We also went to the ice hockey and took a trip to Lynchburg for the JD distillery tour.

Internal flight to JFK was about £80 and took about 2 hours……big bonus arriving in Nashville airport too was US immigration. An absolute breeze vs JFK, very little queuing and the staff were great, complete contrast to arriving in NY.

It’s also about 15 mins from the airport, think we were in the hotel 1hr after landing……it’s 10hr flight from LHR like, so a canny slog.

Doubt I’ll be able to get to either so soon again….but I’m sure those that do, will really enjoy it.

They held her for 17 days I think, shackled, lack of representation, water and food... it was a weird situation with her visa and she was at the Canadian border leaving when ICE detained her... it was outrageous and should have been a small matter to sort out.

Entering any country illegally then i would expect that tbf

The way they're operating, if it hasn't happened yet it's only a matter of time.

A sudden influx of a few thousand pissed-up football fans "taking over" an area and we're bound to see at least a few of them shot in the streets by ICE for getting mouthy at them.

A few thousand pissed up people singing songs pretty much sums up Nashville’s Broadway….it’s full of marauding bachelorette parties, guaranteed they’ll be more grief than us!
Loads of better sited than me on the site to answer that these days. Contact NASA (make sure you contact the night one otherwise the prices are astronomical). The only tip is that in NYC the statue of liberty is underwhelming. Statten island ferry is free, has a bar, and if you time it right you can go out at sunset and come back at night and see the city lit up.
NYC Ferry from Midtown to Stat Island, open top and bar on board…best $4 you can spend in NY (apart from a pint and hotdog in Rudys)

Just seen my email about tickets for these games. Anyone know if there will be a package available or is it just tickets to the games and we have to sort out everything else?

Works both ways regarding a visa. I’m guessing you aren’t very well traveled
Yes... so ok... she had left, went into Canada, which is where there was the visa issue, stepped back into USA and then ICE detained her.... the issue with her visa was a simple misunderstanding, nothing nefarious... I'm guessing you aren't very familiar with this case or the human rights being withheld...

Will there be opportunities to meet the players? Just looked at internal flights between the three stadiums and prices not bad

Not taking any chances. Ive booked accomodation in Nashville and NYC . I have no idea about demand given the opposition but Im not going to take any chances given the cost of the air fair. Royally **** up earlier in the week when I mistimed the day of the NYC match due to my calendar resetting to this month (was going to arrive late) but Ive got it sorted - hopefully ... so long as the match isn't stupidly early. One dodgy website has the kick off listed as 7:45 so if thats correct Ill be fine.

I got the presale email for pre-season but there's no link to purchase tickets, went on sale at 11am? Any ideas

Aye, didn't know it changed at weekend so 3pm

To be fair ive spent a long time overthinking this. Im absolutely up for this trip. Currently Bar spotting arpound Geodis and this across from the stadium has got my name all over it.

If none of the bars end up like the one the Blues Brothers Play in, im going to be deeply ****d off.

Then you need your hotels, which bump up the price massively.

@Yankee Mackem - is a RV a possibility, and can you just pitch up anywhere on the roadside, or is there laws about where you can stop overnight
