How Have You Managed This ?

No its not. Apart from Xhaka most Leeds fans don't really know your new signings and will probably burst out laughing when they see a player called Geertruida but they know Ballard and Hume and don't really rate them in a similar way to how Sunderland fans will not rate Ampadu who has been outstanding this season.

Ampadu 😎

XG is a meaningless, data obsessed stat that doesn't tell any kind of story, IMO. The kind of thing made up by people who have never played the game. Players will miss and score all sorts of easy and hard chances. We all know that, but there's a nuance that we know too: a player's finishing level or a keeper's ability in these scenarios is often the most important, and not measured by XG.

Over 100 minutes to score a goal against our second string at fortress elland road under the lights …..their massively self inflated egos have been pricked and they need a comfort blanket.

Xg, penalty, disallowed goal, time wasting whatever it is.

To be fair their fans are making more noise on social media than they did all last night during the game
They also couldn’t beat our massively depleted team at the SoL.

They’re shite.

The infestation of Leeds fans on here after they win a game is unreal like. Like clockwork

You're 8 points (9 with goal difference) and 10 places behind us. Have a day off FFS.

It's now 9nly nine points and better goal difference.

And I've just checked Burnleys position and that's now only 21 points...

I hope to god we manage to make up that incredibly important "24 point quality gap" both sets of fans told us about - otherwise we're doomed mate.

:(

There is something in it IMO. People look at it and think results, which is not what that data is trying to tell.

Our xG is usually low, normally lower than the opponent and only Wolves and Forest have score less than us. We are level on goals with Palace and every other team in the league has scored more.

Thankfully it doesn't equal results, but the stat is supposed to tell us how many goals we're expected to get by the way we play. It means nothing if we win every game 1-0 with a penalty, but the fact would remain that we didn't score much.

We’ve got the handicap point swing cup in the bag after dispatching Burnley having obliterated that 24 to currently be level.

Think Leeds could possibly win the handicap league with the 24 point headstart they currently lead by 15.

Oh sorry my bad handicaps go the worst side and that being us last season means we’ve smashed 48 points out of Burnley and 33 out of Leeds.

I like the information it gives off at times. It’s a good tool. But in isolation it won’t take into account a teams style of play or squad build up. As every game is different.

It is apparent for all to see we do not create enough though, but are actually a much more effective team when set up defensively which brings down xG and presumably xG against

It's a good job I'm not a betting man - I'm confused as hell about this.

Glad you were able to alay my fears though, at the beginning of the season they were talking as though they honestly believed we started 24 points behind them.

Fingers crossed we can still catch / overtake them.

Karl Darlow is your first choice keeper in the Premier League mate, XG is the least of your worries.

When it comes to scoring goals we are actually better, it's just taken us a while to get the right defensive mix of new and old players. I am actually one of the more balanced Leeds fans most are predicting an easy win at your place with comments like 'if we can't beat a team with Ballard and Hume in defence we don't deserve to be in the PL', I keep warning them it will not be that easy.
Hopefully whu forest and spurs can make your wish come true

That's fair. I just don't think it tells a clear story.
