Mascot prices

I was speaking to the family of the Bournemouth mascots before the match yesterday and they said they paid £700 for the two kids.

Just had a quick look and loads of clubs do it for free but quite a few, including us, charge hundreds of pounds for the privilege.

Surely this is one area where clubs don't need the revenue and could just give the kids and families a great day out instead of fleecing them.

Weirdly I was just about to search for this, so here seems a good a place to ask as any.

Does anyone know how you go about this nowadays? I’m sure I added my lad onto a list a few years ago but nothing ever came about it.

I’ve entered that competition for the Brighton match so fingers crossed he might get lucky

Which clubs are free?
This was last season

Parents of young Forest fans are having to pay significantly more than those at any other club for the chance to see their child walk out with the team. With packages priced between £1200 and £1800, depending on the fixture category, no other club charges nearly as much.

These packages include three guests. However, in a category A fixture, this still equates to £450-per-person. This comes after Aston Villa secretly ditched their inexplicable prices - Forest's rivals for Champions League qualification previously charged the most at the start of the campaign, with prices ranging from £524 to £569. However, they now offer the chance to be a mascot for free to members, alongside seven other clubs that follow that procedure - Bournemouth, Leicester City, Manchester City, Southampton, Liverpool, Tottenham, and Arsenal.

How can my child be a mascot at the game? – Sunderland AFC

My lad was added about three years ago. Eventually, and unbelievably, he was mascot against the Mags. I did ring up to query if he was actually still on the list around October-ish when they then told me the good news. Might be worth ringing them just to query if he is actually on the list. The waiting list is now closed until 28/29 (I think) season.

Ahh I think I remember seeing you post that at the time.

I’ll maybe have to give them a nudge and see if anything comes about it. Can you remember where you rang?

I rang the number in this link I was going to query about a corporate mascot price and I explained that he had been put on the list previously and wondered if he was still on it. The lady, kindly, went away to look into it and got back to me the same day.

£1200

Just managed to get the bairn a place for the Forest game, he must have been on a waiting list(s) for at least 6 years. £200 now with no mention of a strip (we knew that anyway). Interesting or maybe not it's been invoiced as two mascot packages tickets @£100 each.

Not really arsed about the price as it's a once on a lifetime thing for him and the last chance he has as he'll be too old next season.

To put it perspective we paid £150 for the oldest bairn to do it against Southend and he walked out with Will Grigg, he got a strip which he already had so that was a waste.

Did you chase them up or did they get in touch themselves?
