ID checks for away tickets

I'm getting a flashback to when I gave away my ticket to the second 0-3 FFS  at least I went to the PDC one, so I saw one of them, but never forgiven myself for the second one!
I done exactly the same. Still regret it now. Been there 3 times. 0-3, 0-1 and 1-1. 3 unbeaten but really should’ve been 4.

Why did you do that??
Iirc (which I might not due to how long ago it was!). Certain I bought my ticket and then it was announced that it was going to be a bubble trip. I'm massively opposed to them and just wouldn't attend a match if I was going to be forced to travel a certain way, not drink, be treated like a hooligan etc. So I said fuck that, not going to go. A mate (makes it worse that it's someone I don't even speak to any more!) said he'd go so I said fair enough and gave him my ticket. Very shortly afterwards both clubs came out and said it wasn't going to be a bubble trip and you could get there however you want. But by that point I'd given the ticket away and would have felt shit saying "can I have it back". So I just accepted it, and thought that I'd seen the 0-3 so it no doubt wouldn't be that good again anyway . Still regretting it a decade later. But aye, not sure if memory is clouding it and a bubble was only rumoured, but in my head it was announced initially. Either way, that's what pissed me off and made me give it up

But you only get BCP with a season ticket so you'd be doing tbe miles to all the home games

Can give tickets away for the ones you don't want to go to. Even put them up for resale now - not sure how many per season is allowed mind.

But overall you could build points cheaper than someone who does the miles from up here if you really wanted to.

So it's alright to give away your ticket for home games which are sold out to build up BCPs but not away games

I thought on a bubble trip they only gave you a ticket when on the transport ?

You’re right mate. A few didn’t apply for it on this basis. I was in two minds for the same reasons as you but did (thankfully).

Yeah, as I get older I find it mad how much core memories get corrupted! Following NorthCountryBoys post I think that must have been it. I had in my head that I had a ticket in hand and physically gave it to my mate. I think I've actually said I'm not going to apply, because I won't do a bubble trip. Then my mate has asked if I'd apply and give him the ticket (don't tell the people on the ticket check thread!) and I said okay. Not sure how he was going to get it in terms of ID on the bus but he must have been happy to risk it. So I've applied for him basically. Then they've announced that it isn't a bubble trip. So I could rightly have said "sorry mate, now it's not a bubble trip I'm having the ticket" but I wasn't going to apply so it was only right that I let him have it, which I now regret (that'll be when I got the ticket and handed it to him, which is the bit I remember, they'll have posted it out after confirming no bubble)! My own daft fault for jumping the gun and believing a rumour!

Was the proposed bubble not 1-1 under Allardyce? I can’t remember now like.

They have their intentions then caved when both clubs combined to oppose it.

To be fair I wouldn’t have asked for it back either , all part of life’s rich tapestry .

Just looked, and my memory isn't as bad as I was worrying!

It was actually announced as a bubble trip, which is when I said fuck that (didn't think I'd have been daft enough to say it based on a rumour). Then both supporters groups came out against it and they went back on it.

You have to have a season ticket to build up points, and that racks up the miles.

See the previous replies. You can pay £600 for a season ticket and don't have to go to all the games.

I know the club have certain clauses now regarding none attendance. But I'm sure this was mostly regarding the cheaper kids tickets who don't go to enough games.

As far as I'm aware there's no issue with you forwarding tickets to friends and family for home games (bar restricted ones). So there are still ways and means.

Yeah, there's no attendance requirement for adult tickets. And even clubs that do have a requirement normally just have a requirement to either attend or list it for sale, it's just empty seats they don't want. We're not even going to enforce the kids attendance level thing this season. So you could quite easily have a season ticket and sell most games. Only issue you'd have is that only up to £100 can be used against your next season ticket, and obviously some games don't get a resell option, so you'd be a fair bit out of pocket.

Definitely strongly rumoured for the second 0-3, in my mind it was initially announced and then rowed back on, but that might just be my memory becoming shit!
It was definitely the 2nd 0-3, we had our application in for tickets when they announced the bubble trip. Toys out the pram, email sent cancelling our application and by the time they rowed back on it the window to apply for tickets had closed. The only one of the six in a row I missed, still gutted
