British couple in iran


Just to be clear how dodgy this country is, a student at Durham was iranian and returned home, only to be arested and put in solitary for years. There was a big movement to get him released. Charges were never entirely clear.

For what reason(s) were they denied entry?

My point is it's really not a decision defining reason to not visit the states. It's not a police state. If you're there illegally you'll get rejected or collar felt. No different to anywhere.

I’ve been to Birmingham and went out for some beers on the night and there was a big squad of lads playing loud Islamic style music from their sound system right in the centre next to the bull ring.

I’m not easily intimidated (I’ve been to Port Vale!) and just walked straight through them but I could imagine it would be quite harrowing for older people or lone females.
