Deffo remember getting them from the chippy near the roker end , probably the same one you're talking about, 15p each.That sounds class! Used to get CBB's from. the chippy next to The Derby before the match, tremendous, don't think anywhere does them now. My mate got asked to leave the Silver Grid in town years ago after repeatedly asking for one when pissed.

I always heard about this mythical dipped bun filled with curry.There was two types. The standard batter inside the bun with a curry splash, decent but the gold standard was doxy chippy who would put the curry in the bun, dip bun into batter mix and fry the bastard.
I’m sure other chippies done the same.
