Corner Kicks

sland

Central Defender
We have just watched Liverpool and Arsenal, consistantly deliver superb corners (inswingers) into our box and cause us problems last week.

Then we go away to Oxford and we are doing these high floating outswingers from Hume. Surely something we should be working on, watching how the best teams do things?

Only left footed outfield player in the team was Cirkin, so not really much option yesterday. Especially as we didn't have Ballard/Alderete, Cirkin was probably one of our biggest threats in the box.

Xhaka has been taking inswingers from that side whenever he's been in the team this season.

Our all round game has tailed off quite significantly since new year. Probably understandable all things considered but away from home our attacking play is almost non existent.

Liverpool's corners were the best I've seen this season. they were dropping every one in the same place so wasn't really a surprise when they scored from one. really dangerous whereas we keep persisting with the floaty efforts. they must work wonders in training given we keep doing it

I counted 5 shots on target yesterday. Ok it was Oxford, but to balance that, we had a weakened team

Not sure why some have laughed at this post as its spot on really.

Yeah bang on, so we should have someone to do what Xhaka was doing. Never realised only Cirkin left footed in team yesterday so fair point.
Gotta love it when the experts at home pick up something the players should surely be working on, as if the lads haven't been training professionally day in day out for most of their lives.
Or just get a better expert set piece coach 🤷

My exact point, dont dare say anything slightly negative, the pros have been training daily all their lives.

Could have summit to do with having the likes of Mohamed Salah and Florian Wirtz taking them.

I mean as a bit of balance Liverpool have just sacked their set play coach as they have been terrible at them all season
