Speakman gone

Mate who has links to the club text me and he said there's been a massive falling out behind the scenes over the Hume hybrid role. Speakmann and others have been putting pressure on RLB to at least rotate or try something different. RLB is stubborn and refused, leading to this.

Not good, especially after the strong season, but I wouldn't be too concerned cos everything I just typed is completely made up.

I heard from a club source that he was disgruntled with the early leavers. The final straw was when he saw thousands leaving against Liverpool when we needed a goal in stoppage time to preserve our home record.

The club heirarchy were reluctant to chain people to their seats against their will so Speakman has walked in protest.

I do sit on the side of rose tinted when it comes to the club. But I can’t help but think this is another example of how professionally the club is run now.

Another example of succession planning at the club. Speakman has been exceptional but we are now at a different level that needs different contacts. There’s been a professional handover of the role to ensure continuity. This is how successful businesses operate,

All the best Speakman you are a big part of the reason we have this platform
Spot on, it’s taking the next steps and trying to move up levels with no room for sentiment.

Judging by all statements he didn’t have much input anymore anyway

Ghisolfi is doing the job he was when we were in the championship
Agreed, I think Speakmans role this season changed to focus on outgoings.

We came up with little time to prepare for the Premier League, so moved quickly to bring in our signings without waiting for others to move on first. Although no longer part of the first team we had a huge squad of professional footballers on our books. The upheaval in the squad was a two man job, we're in a better place now and Ghisolfi will manage everything by the looks of it.

My first thought , sad to see him go but club are showing a real ruthless side, which we need ,somehow don’t think Rodwell situation would have happened with these guys in charge. He done a great job but we move on.

Now that premier league status is all but confirmed next season, we don’t need the expertise he offers. All the best to him.

Football is chock full of grifters and hangers on, but this bloke is the real deal.
