Speakman gone

I do sit on the side of rose tinted when it comes to the club. But I can’t help but think this is another example of how professionally the club is run now.

Another example of succession planning at the club. Speakman has been exceptional but we are now at a different level that needs different contacts. There’s been a professional handover of the role to ensure continuity. This is how successful businesses operate,

All the best Speakman you are a big part of the reason we have this platform

Cannot say I am too impressed by this tbh

I remain to be convinced by Ghisolfi so we will see where this goes
I like them both, last summer I'm sure the both had their work cut out bringing a full squad in.

But I'd think there will be good few reasons to this.

  1. He's completed what he was brought in to do which is what the club have stated.
  2. We don't need two people doing the same role (although we likely would have done to bring a full squad in last summer)
  3. The result of having Speakers and Ghisolfi doing the same or very similar roles for too long could be very dangerous if they both have different approaches and outlooks etc - We need everyone pulling in the same direction at the club.
  4. Speakman I'm assuming just didn't have the range of quality contacts as Ghisolfi does.
I'm gutted to see him go as he's been a massive part of us but it seems like another shrewd move to keep the club going onwards and upwards.

We
Done his job to his potential, move him out and get to the next level.
No doubt he has left with plenty of compensation.
Well not necessarily if he has resigned. Apparently in football it seems even in a sacking the old club keeps paying the salary until a new club is found

Bit gutted, but success stories are rare in football management circles (I know he's not the manager, but had a big role), and he leaves with a very strong track record.

This...I agree on all these points....the club seems to have outgrown him, which is good news I suppose

he will have offers from elsewhere. Hes done a good job and has more than paid his wages with the players hes brought in ( and dealt arpund) _ but I would t call it exceptional. people brining up the div1 days and the team.he inherited are just overlooking how shit it was before. Anybody remotely competent in the role.should have been able to recruit to get us into the championship. It's the championship plan and execution that is really good. Clubs bigger than him though. im never that sure what exactly these roles do. .. where does scouting end and recruiting begin? whats coaching and staffing approach to deliver his plan ? where and when does he get inv9lvrd in first team. affairs. its a murky business
