That season had seen a really big increase in ticket prices though. I don't know about the price of standing season tickets in the season before but the match by match went up from £11 to £16, so a 45% ish increase. To be fair it was only what other clubs had already done in the post Taylor Report era of massive price increases at inflation busting rates.Demand being greater than supply definitely helps when it comes to increasing ticket prices.
A standing season ticket at Roker cost around £300 in 1997.

The season ticket renewal window for the 2026-27 campaign will open shortly.
Supporters are advised that there will be no automatic renewal option via Direct Debit this year, as the Club completes its migration to SeatGeek.
All season ticket holders, including those who previously renewed by Direct Debit, will need to complete the renewal process manually.
A range of payment options will continue to be available, including Direct Debit split across six monthly payments.
Full details, including how to purchase and pricing information, will be released shortly.

Where did the crack even come from they were getting rid? It was never, ever on the cards, the crack/rumour was always simply if you’re on DD you’ll need to manually sort your details this time while a system migration takes place.Direct debits will definitely stay.
