Hume Hybrid Role

Very very poor and completely baffling why he's in the side. Can only be as some kind of 'talisman' type player given his rise through the leagues with us but he just isn't a leader...as Dan Neil wasn't and it shows.
Think Regis needs to be ruthless again. Doesn't seem to want to take Hume out or disrupt the middle three. It's going to need to be done at some point though.

Hume’s been a great servant to the club but say we want to kick on next season and improve or even just stay a decent mid table PL side I can’t see how starts regularly and certainly not in midfield. He’s still had a good season but in general don’t think it’s working against decent sides.

one- I don't see anybody crying out to take on the captain's role and
two. Whenever we lose the toys get thrown out of the pram and the fannies on here invariably point the finger at Hume.

PATHETIC

Ridiculous tonight. Nowt against Hume at all but he was playing wide right a lot of the time, why not just start Talbi there and go for it for once?

That shot he had when Nordi was screaming for it down the right side. Over the bar and Nordi going ape shit with him. Hume is a right back and a good one at that. Regis needs to realise it

One- You got a direct line to the dressing room like. How the ferk would you know.
Two- its not toys out the pram, its pointing out the obvious, playing hume in that role is costing us.

I get the theory. We don't want to be overrun in midfield so stick someone who will graft. I think Alungo showed enough willing tonight we can to try him on the left and Talbi out right. We are pretty much safe. Roll the dice a bit, get experience into the lads who will take us forward. If we take a humping or two so be it. Now is the time to let the show what they can do when they take a swing.

What I hate about this is that everyone, me included, is starting to have a go at Hume for being played out of position.

I absolutely rate him as a player and it's actually quite upsetting that I now find myself disappointed and annoyed when he's named in the starting XI - but that's because I know it means we're either playing a back 5 or he's being played out of position and we are an attacker short.

I mean we all love Xhaka, but we'd probably start to be pissed off if we were playing him on the wing every week too.

If we are safe I don’t see why RLB don’t want changes it to see how it goes. He genuinely has nothing to lose. I love le bris but he’s Making the same mistakes consistently at the minute. Since Brentford away he’s made several selection and set up errors that he could’ve kept much simpler. Really hoping this season doesn’t Peter out, ftm

This shite didn’t work against the likes of Plymouth argyle under Mowbray how we have got to the position that we are trying to do it against City Arsenal Liverpool is mind boggling
I've been saying since the back end of 2023 that having Trai Hume moving into midfield makes him look a worse player and us a worse player overall.

It's even worse now as the lad doesn't seem to know where he should be at times and for about 15 minutes tonight looked like he had been given a free role!
