Problem with this role he's playing is when pushed further forward he lacks the quality needed, which is no surprise as he's a rb. It leaves us with no attacking threat on our right side.

I thought he played really well

So much space down that right hand side all night mate. Gakpo and Robertson had acres, then Wirtz started drifting across too.

He didn't do anything obviously wrong mind, and it's not his fault, the hybrid thing just causes issues amongst other players too because at times no-one seems to know who is picking up who and where they should be.

When it works, it works well (e.g. the equaliser against Palace at home), but the cons far outweigh the pros.

The biggest frustration is we have capable players on the bench who, IMO, would make us better and allow us to play a system that isn't over complicated.

Feels to me he is showing loyalty, we have done this before, as much as I respect Trai for what he has done, if we cannot accommodate him in defence then he has to be benched for a midfielder.
