At Washington the river is high and fast moving. But, tbh, I wouldn't worry about it this far out, a dry, the levels can go back to normal pretty quickly.Anyone living close to the ground? Is the river level high? Just worried that with all the rain we have had there is nowhere for the water to drain just like a couple of seasons ago when the first match was abandoned due to the water table being too high

Probably a bigger concern is how Vic's close season schedule has been affected.Anyone living close to the ground? Is the river level high? Tbf despite the almost continuous rain there is no surface water on the pitch at all....unlike ladt season when there was just with a heavy showerNo chance the season starts on time. Ground will be drenched for weeks still yet.
The ground has a reputation for being fast draining. So, I reckon the issue to probably be have the groundstaff been able to get out to prepare the pitch properly? It might be a little spicy for the first few games and is that better or worse than being as dead as the proverbial dodo as in the past couple of years. No chance the season starts on time.
