Was he just not the right fit here or not up to the required standard for the premier league in general. Thoughts people. I’m saying this after reading some quote from his replacement saying he would defend to the death. As a side note I’m a bit sad it did t work out for Adingra as he looked like a good lad in and around the club.
 

He wasn’t wanted at Brighton, a mid table premier league side. Was always one suspected wouldn’t work out all that well.

People will point towards his work ethic, but actually his defensive stats, while not stellar, were well above average for wingers in this league.

His attacking ones were piss poor however. Ultimately he had two or three positive moments from an attacking perspective across all of his games. Not good enough ultimately.

Well done to the club for recognising it and acting ruthlessly
 
Has attacking talent but looked uncomfortable having to go back defending,
Didn’t look like a winger probably due to not being fast enough so perhaps he would have been more effective floating around the no 9.
 
Brighton fans were saying he was very hit and miss. That was in a more attacking side than us. I m not too harsh in criticising our wingers as essentially they are wingbacks with FBs behind them. Most of their game is defending rather than being on the front foot.
 
He is a young lad, who i thought needed a bit more time and more games.
But i'm sure those who scrutinised him beforehand knew that. I'm surprised they've ejected him.
Only logical reason for me could be that they have found someone more promising.
 
Someone told me he wasn’t a great lad to have around the place if he wasn’t getting minutes but that could be nonsense. Surprised it really didn’t work as Brighton fans thought he was decent. It’s an opinion to buy not an obligation, apparently we’d recoup all our investment, and with the way finance is in French football at the minute, I’d imagine he’d have to be the best player in the league for them to spend that sort of money. I think he’ll be back in a Sunderland shirt next season.

RLB even admits that wingers expend a lot of their energy defending in his system.
 
Never going to be the right fit for a team that demands so much defensively from it's wingers.

RLB admitted we much in the embargoed section of his press conference.

Which makes him an odd signing really.
 
Adingra was really poor. Not particularly quick, never in control of the ball, no tricks, coudn't beat a man, passing and crossing often wayward, didn't offer much defensively.

Not up to the required standard. Which is disappointing. His agent suggested he was better than Sunderland and would use us a stepping stone. That step will be down. Possibly was down.
 
There’s a player in there somewhere, not even going to say he was ‘inconsistent’ because that’s just wingers in general.

I think we just ended up with other players we thought were better fit, ie Talbi.

Wasn’t much between him and Mundle, and Mundle is home grown and better defensively…
 
I suppose a lot is determined by where the club think we currently sit.
The summer transfers were obviously done to get us established as a Premier League Club probably thinking we'd end up around forty something points.
The majority of the signings have shown they're actually better than that and with further tinkering we could become an established top half squad.
If the opportunity comes to swap out certain players for those with potential to go to another level, without losing out too much financially the Club look like they're going to take it.

Spot on. Like you say, people talk about him defensively but the fact is he looked surprisingly poor from an attacking perspective. He was quite greedy, he'd get the ball and always seemed to want to run at his man. That's fine if you're the kind of player who regularly beats them, but most of the time he was easily dispossessed and that, for me, was the most disappointing thing.

I'll be honest, even though I can completely understand a player not wanting to drop into the championship, I never warmed to him just because he turned us down last season. I'm glad he turned us down, it meant we kept Watson and we know what happened there, but it suggested he thought he was too good for that league and/ or the club at that time. He certainly wasn't. He couldn't get a game for Brighton, albeit with good competition, then he moved here and couldn't get a game for us. If we were a relegation battler, as he probably expected, I doubt he'd be the type for that either, upper championship is probably where he's at for now

That being said, seemed a decent lad and he must have something about him. I remember that afcon where he looked really promising. Not sure what's happened, whether it's desire, just not finding the right home or whatever but for whatever reason he looks a shadow of that player at the minute. Hope it goes well for him in France but, no matter how he progresses, I don't think it'd have worked for him here

There was a quote from his country manager last week that Simon needed to leave the Premier League asap as it didn't suit him
He was quoted saying in Prem league as a winger you need to be either explosive(like Doku) or have physical ability to run up and down tracking back.
 
Looks like Le Bris didn’t fancy him. I don’t think he was bad, if he’d have stopped I’d have expected more from him in future, but he is young & had time to do that & by all accounts has shown better at Brighton & for the Ivory Coast.

Could look at it that the club has realised they’ve made a rare error in their recruitment, that being a negative, but spin it to say they were proactive & quickly moved to get a player they thought was an improvement & we’re happy to take a bit of a loss of the chin to make it happen.
 
No defensive nous is never going to be a fit for a side built on defensive solidity. For me he had plenty to offer going forward but despite a little improvement defensively he just looks uncomfortable in a side that is comfortable without the football.
