Burnley Forum

If boro and coventry get automatics next season will have:
Forest/west ham/Burnley/Leeds (likely 2 of)
Wolves
And at least 3 of:
Leicester
Ipswich
Sheff utd
Southampton
And likely big spenders:
Birmingham
Wrexham

Awful that. Its going to be a tough season to even make the playoffs.
To be fair it's looked a difficult season for the relegated teams this time around. Southampton and Leicester are off the pace and for all the money they've spent since their previous promotion Ipswich are chasing the automatic spots.

I actually disagree. The Leicester owner has given up making an effort and Sheff Utd will be on their last (much diminished) parachute payment next year. Southampton are hardly pulling up trees this season either.

Wrexham have built a half decent Championship squad but they have spent a lot and they can't keep doing it. Same with Birmingham (though arguably they don't even half a half decent squad).

As poor as Burnley are there's a good chance they end up with more points than any relegated side last year, and their style is pretty well suited to the Championship.

Why do people keep writing Wrexham off when they've broke consecutive promotion records? They're in a fantastic position, already have higher revenue than every championship club bar the ones with parachute payments.

They've cracked America, what every club owners dreams of, selling boatloads of merchandise and attracting huge Americans companies as sponsors.

They've got big plans for their stadium and a popular streaming series.

They'll get promoted canny soon, might even do it this season through the playoffs, then they'll get even more revenue and sponsors.

The occasion must’ve got to Burnley, because although they been struggling in relegation all season they put up a fight in other games. Last night it was like a premier league side against a league one side.

An acceptance of where they are heading. They have west ham next while Leeds play Forest on Friday. Could be all over but the shouting

I remember the away game down there and walking back to the car. I overheard a lot of comments saying how great they were and how they'd finish well above us. Their fans were generally a bit dick-ish. Shame.
