Could be season ticket holders finding themselves a bit shorter than expected so duff it.
As I said, other reasons too as you found it strange people dont turn up.
Holidays, illness, young kids, work, other plans..... some have said on here before they didn't go due to weather.....
What do you think is the reason for no shows?

Happy clapper who doesn't have to rely on public transport (buses mainly) being non existent after 22:00 shock!!!
Stayed until after the end as always, can't say I particularly noticed many leaving early.

Looks utter shite, and there are very few decent excuses to not stay and clap the lads off after a result like that.

I agree with you to a point.
Wish more would stay. I did. But we have supporters earnings less in a year than than some benched players get per week and a lot just want to get home for their forthcoming working week.
No shade on xhaka but I'm sure he disappeared into the belly of the sol around 80 minutes so can't blame fans for the same.

Its really weird and reflects poorly on our tremendous overall fanbase.
If I was the club i’d be writing to people with season cards who frequently dont scan them in and ask wth the craic is.
You DO know you can sell them back to the club now? And get a few quid back for them ?

People who live in outlying areas with no public transport have my full respect. You can get to and from Newcastle from Durham rail station in 10 minutes for example but there isn’t even a bus back after 9 from Sunderland.

Thank Northern Rail .... Train service so poor ... the last train on can be a bus .. or none turn up at all .. do you take the risk and get home after midnight ... pay £40 / 60 for a taxi ... or leave early!

Game won, late finish, bloke in front of us with a young kid left 5 minutes before the end, school day tomorrow, normally stays until full time on a normal kick off time, fair enough
