Tommy Watson

I don’t get that some people seem so surprised by this. It will always have been Brighton’s plan to loan him out once he got himself settled within the club. They do that commonly with young players that they buy.

And he would have been nowhere near getting regular playing time here had he stayed. He didn’t look anywhere near consistent enough to be a regular Championship starter, never mind in the Premier League.

Let’s face it! His goal in the final was a moment of magic!

But other than that, he done fuck all!

Always be fondly remembered for taking us up but this deal suggests he isn’t good enough. He’ll never be better than Clarke or Mundle and they’re not Premier League class.
What part of getting a 10m+ move to one of the best development clubs in the country before a loan deal to a top end championship team at 19 suggests he isn’t good enough.

His agent is a disgrace advising him to leave, and before the season even ended.

He should have stayed here with coaches who know him, he would have been much better looked after and considered very important to the club, not just another lamb to raise for meat.

His development would have continued rather than stalled, he would have been getting game time from the bench for us, particularly with AFCON and injuries.

These young footballers can be so naive. I wouldn't even have an agent outside of my mam answering phone call enquiries, they are leeches. When it comes to contract negotiation I'd just hire a freelance negotiator. It's nuts players give up 10% of their earnings to them.
His agent has probably got him from about 100k a year to about a million a year and a signing on fee of probably more than a million quid and a really good club that was in the division above he was playing in. Would a freelance negotiator know the ins and outs of 100s of footballers contracts?
Harte ... Clarke and Watson both followed his advice ....the real beneficiary looks like harte ???
Harte isn’t his agent
