Geertruida

Which is what some people arent grasping. This move depends solely on what WE want to do. Is it great for squad harmony to have a player who maybes wants to be somewhere else? No. But at the same time we cant be seen to look like a soft touch.
Exactly. I'd be prepared to let him sit out the next 4 months if it's worth putting his world cup place in jeopardy.

Anyway I'm sure a resolution will be found.

I understand that he would want to go. Ultimately he's only on loan here, and he's not even a first 11 player if everyone is fit. He's a good player though, and a player who gives great tactical flexibility and cover in 3 or 4 positions. If Liverpool want to arrange to break our binding agreement for their benefit - right at the end of the window - then they can f*cking well put their hands in their pockets and compensate us.

You can go a life time without having a loan/option to buy/recall/compensation battle then two come along in the space of 12 hours.

All the best as we go into war with Aberdeen, Schalke, Leipzig and Liverpool.

It’s frustrating as I really rate him as a player but I’ve never been convinced we were going to sign him. It’s the big risk with loans, they’re not your player until they’re your player
Agree I like him too. Remember debating on this board after he first played for us - who is best RB at the club.

Not sure he’s played there for us but now looks like he’ll play rb at Liverpool and possibly at WC with Netherlands
