Thought Side was a bit crap like when we went last year. Wouldn't rush back there or to Turkey in general tbh.

Fairy nuff. We’d be 5 star all incl. near the town. I’d like to see the Roman ruins. At that time of the year weather is good compared to some other areas. That’s why Protaras and Chania are possibles, all further south for the weather,
We are getting on so like to take it easy these days 👍

That was the only bit I enjoyed tbf. It's very hilly mind.

On the whole Turkey just isn't very good VFM imho and I'm not a skinflint.

We’ve been going to Tui Akra Sensatori Fethiye for past five years. Daughter works for Tui and was recommended this hotel five years ago. We go with her and her son, our grandson. It’s fabulous.
Next door is adults only The Residence, that’s fabulous too. Problem is this year for 3:adults and a nine year old late June it was £8.6k.for 10 nts 😳

My daughter works for Tui anarl!

I only have a week on a sunbed in Europe in the summer under duress from my missus. We don't go with any other family, we've done most of Europe and tbh I absolutely hate it.

Picked daughter up today at Ponteland. She’s been working in Dubai and Sri Lanka. She deals with long haul hotels BUT my missus won’t do long haul. If she did we could have some great deals.
We are going Sharm el Sheik April Ive told the Missus it’s a 5 hour flight 🤥

Our long hauls are DIY efforts, me and the missus are a couple of frustrated 55yo gap year students tbh. Sri Lanka one of the best countries I've ever been to. The trains up in the tea country are amazing. You wouldn't get that on a package holiday.

Off to Argentina and chile in April. Start in Buenos Aires, down to Patagonia in Argentina, bus to Argentina in chile then finish in Santiago. Can’t wait

End of May we fly to Corfu then get ferry to Albanian coast for 5 nights.

Hoping to get away October, likely candidate is South Korea

Verona, Venice, Florence, Rome & Amalfi for a couple of weeks.

Rome I have been to - it rained. Like it did in Wales and everywhere else I have been to. But I would go back again in a heartbeat. This is probably the biggest difference between me and my lass. She is more for Spain and I am more for Italy I think. Venice I stayed in overnight whilst we were on our way to the MSC Ammonia. If I knew what it would be like I would have sacked off the cruise and stayed. Brindisi was nice. Delos was just a load of dust and sand. Piraeus is a shithole. The Acropolis is a broken bone waiting to happen. Split was nice but outside of the seafront it was your typical former Yugoslavian place. Signs of it's old days during the war everywhere. Mind you it was in the middle of the Adriatic I learned we had beaten Coventry at home and booked the playoff final at Wembley. I was also in Greece when I paid for my seat. It wasn't all bad. Venice was just incredible.

tenerife next week for 10 days and then we'll be booking something else when we're away - possibly tavira in a couple of months and portugal at some point

Love Tenerife, it may not pass the "non-Mainstream test" but it's always a good bet for weather, good times and value for money any time of the year. I've tried the other Canary islands but always keep going back to Tenners.
