Greek Island Holiday Help

This.
Just spent a week there and it was stunning. Incredible views everywhere of the Ionian Sea. Need a car to get around and explore. Assos my personal fave. A beautiful little harbour village beach with crystal clear water. For me being able to swim freely across the harbour without worrying about what's in the water with you has been tremendous. :D
What a place this is. We stayed in a tiny resort, Karavados. Did an organised coach tour of the island including over to Ithaca. Beautiful place.

Flights were over a grand for 2 of us for 27, jet2 packages work out about the same as booking separate
Yeah they’re generally expensive but Tui do have bargain flights from time to time. Last year we got two return flights for £480.
This year we decided while we were there, to stay an extra week and it cost £112 each to fly back to Ponteland.
So fingers crossed 🤞

I like the convenience of Newcastle, plus petrol, parking, and potentially a hotel as well soon mounts up. Not sure at what level the saving would have to be to persuade me, to use another airport, and the missus is even less inclined.

Its a pisser mind given Newcastke prices
£130 meet and greet plus Hotel five minutes from airport on the M1.
Its a 23::00 arrival back in UK so didn't fancy the night time drive. Still saved over £300.

Worked for us last October going to Cyprus via Edinburgh due to their half term holiday's being a week earlier.....
Like for like holiday was £550 cheaper......fuel and airport parking aside it was a decent enough saving to justify. Still a clart on mind, especially the drive home at 10pm.

Rhodes or Kos for us next year for a change....

Aye, dont think I'd want the late drive home personally, but that's my circumstances. Even with a hotel the saving would be decent but I put quite a high value on convenience. Totally get why others do it though as nowt much seems cheap from Newcastle

We’ve just booked Rhodes today for next year, hotel Amus phnarr phnarr.

Not cheap mind

Lefkada is a new island for us in 2026.
We were there in September/ October. Loved it. Stayed in Agios Nikitas.
We have booked Nidri for September, apparently can access from mainland via causeway.
Looks great mind.
You can, it's more of a bridge than a Holy Island style causeway. We drove there from Athens, then left via the ferry to Kefalonia.

We are in Lefkada town in September and will use the bridge to get there in our hire car. I think it is Nissi where you get the ferry to Meganissi which also looks superb.
