Nordi Mukiele

I’m of the opinion that Mukieles best position is centre half and we look a far better team defensively when he plays there

It might be centre half, but he's a better one on one defender than Hume and doesn't struggle as much for pace at right back as Hume can occasionally do. I've also only seen Geertruida at right back a game an a half and he was nowhere near as good.

Given how stodgy we are going forward at times then Mukiele's pace and crossing coming forward is also needed in wide areas.

Mukiele needs to be playing at right back.

There were the seeds of linking up with Diarra down the right flank as well

Didn't really like to see it, but wouldn't want to be without him. has a right to be pissed off at the performance. I am curious how much of the disorganisation was down to Xhaka not being on the pitch to manage them. I know we have played badly on a few occasions with him there but never really looked so disorganised.

Even if you look at Manu after their 2nd goal they are having a chat in our penalty box to sort it out before the subs. I think Xhaka him Alderete.
The problems are elsewhere have been all season, haven't been addressed and still making same selection / sub mistakes.

I enjoyed seeing his reaction coming off tbh, makes a change to see how elite players react.

Best we have in our back line imo, but his quality at right back is stark compared to Hume/Geertruida. Last two games, two assists and so athletic.

He gave everything for the badge — top, top player. But he does need to manage his energy better at times. You could see he ran out of steam when someone ran past him too easily.
He had every right to be frustrated about coming off, but RLB made the right call. It was a smart precaution to avoid anything going wrong. That’s proper man-management — looking after the players’ wellbeing first.
He had just injured his hand as well in a tackle. He was wincing for a while after it. That may have had something to do with it too.

I felt like we were throwing the towel in when we subbed him. He was the one that was getting us forward
I’m not sure about that, I don’t think there was a huge comeback on the cards.
Does anybody actually watch him? he’s always kicking off with himself and getting frustrated if he makes any kind of mistake

Only time Iv seen him smile was second half against the mags when it was just too easy
He does get annoyed, but at the same time he does smile quite a bit too.

I'd agree but I don't think we had scored long before the sub. Had we got another goal you could have seen West Ham potentially caving under the pressure. It's all about momentum.

Think I'd say it's the least pressure we've put on another team when behind in the 2nd half though.

He has very high standards, he does beat himself up because of that.
Top player with top standards, we need a few more players like that
