What exactly is immature about having principles, think it’s naive in the extreme to think politics doesn’t come in to football (and everything else). All the knackers that scream keep politics out of football are probably the ones drooling over poppy displays and booing taking the knee and other anti-racism efforts.

And yeah it’s dead easy to avoid buying Israeli products in shops, you just read the label…?

It’s nothing against the player as an individual, it’s where the money is going.
Weve saved the player from being paid money by an Israeli team, does that make you feel better?

Can we please all stay on topic on this PF thread. It should be about football and the player we have just signed.

If you wish to discuss the political or moral implications of dealing with the Israeli selling club then please start a thread on the politics forum.

Thank you.

Nice to feel so relaxed about recruitment. I trust the ownership, recruitment team, manager - if they rate him, good enough for me. Looks a talent in the clips.

The lad is 20yr old, from the Ivory Coast. I don't know his religion or who he voted for. It doesn't matter. I don't know any of your religions or who you vote for and I don't care, because, it doesn't matter! This is football and Sunderland, politics and religious differences have no place here. Our common interest is football not bigotry.

"he is a player with high potential, and we will integrate him patiently into our Club"

Jocelin will be unavailable for selection when Sunderland host Crystal Palace at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

We've also not plastered signings for the u21's all over our socials like we have him. He's clearly going to be involved

Unless it’s about the Saudis.

He seems to fit our style, he's got pace, intensity, work rate, but also is direct which we are lacking from the wings. You can't go wrong at that price, can you?

If your issue is giving money to a club which is owned by an investment company, whose other investments you don't agree with, then would you also advocate not giving any money to any company that Aliya is invested in?
Immoral money is everywhere, all we can do is try to avoid dealing with it as much as we can.

I practice a form of ethical investing known as ESG (environmental, social, and governance), I don't invest in companies that deal in weapons, gambling, fossil fuels, or unfair labour practices.

If more people followed this the world would be a better place, you'd find these people would think twice about their actions if their bottom line was hurt.
