Hahaha. It doesn't at all.

It takes perception and bias out of it. Everton had the best chance of the match by an absolute mile- the penalty. And we didn't create anywhere near as decent opportunities as your bias thinks.

Whether a keeper makes a save or not makes no difference to xG.

It's some peoples understanding of xG and a weird upset about it which is shite.

Do you not think that the fact that clubs use it suggests it has some statistical merit?

Nobody is saying it is the only thing that matters or that it doesn't have flaws, it is just another way to read the game.

He was running diagonally away from goal with the defender on his shoulder and a tight angle. I would say it’s less than a 1 in 7 chance of scoring. It needs either a perfect finish or weak goalkeeping.

It's a useful tool, I just think people are getting to hung up on it.

I mean we're getting league tables based on XG ffs.

Sunderland were quite comfortably the better side.
