Dan Neil

Yea but Cirkin is useful in a position that is required, were hardly going to cut our nose off. As an aside, I imagine their contract negotiations went a bit differently.

Neil has been required recently- he could have been useful.

Perhaps not for effort, but how do you know that based on the few minutes he's had? He might not be up to it. I think the club clearly have their doubts.

I mean this is stetching a bit Chris, like end of day we haven't won a game recently, some really hard earned points, and just mixing it up a bit might not have hurt

He is a decent footballer, like people suddenly rewriting history like he is some sort of bomb scare...we dont get close to promotion without him last year.

Club dont want him I agree, and need to sell him to be fair to him. Just think it was mismanaged during this period thats all

Leeds at home especially he could have helped, IMO anyway

Maybe because dan deil offers more in attack and in defense. Surely you didn’t enjoy watching rigg last night. We should sell or loan out rigg if we want him to improve. He’s definitely not capable of being a starter in this league

They are both CM. Rigg being played out of position ahead of Mayenda last night.
Aye let’s just sell the 18 year old because he not ripping up the premier league from the off 🤪 strange take. Dan Neil as a central midfielder is way down our pecking order now unfortunately for the lad. Reggie doesn’t seem to trust him and the contract situation we’ve either given up offering him or feel like we’ve gone past his level so we’re both deciding it’s best we move on. He did well for us last season but we’ve accelerated past his level faster than we all thought we would.

At the end of the day, the PL is just on a different level and unfortunately he is not good enough.

There is no doubt he has been a massive part of this club revival but I cannot see why people get so upset by his lack of game time.Do they know him personally and/or is it because hes a local lad?

Personally, I wish we could field 11 local lads and compete in the PL but the reality is - is that hes not good enough.

Rigg isn't being played for creativity, just as well as he hasn't shown any. He's being played as the head coach wants stability and work ethic over creativity and rarely allows us to play in the PL with two wide players.

Given what Rigg has offered there this season there is absolutely no reason why Neil, Onien or any of the others couldn't have done similar, even if wide is one of the last places they should play - he has been that poor with the basics.
Perhaps, DN and co. not showing much in training apart from the positional dilemma. Rigg did all right in spasms, but was left isolated too often and the more experienced players didn't help in that regard. Besides both DN and O9 would be used as holding midfielders at the very most

They did last season. I suspect he or his agent got caught in their own hype. Could have gone for them, but it didn't.
On what basis in fact do you say that? You nor anybody else have no idea what's been offered or discussed. Just pure fabrication to suit your personal perspective.

Without knowing the terms of that deal it's very easy to say he should have signed it.

Im not suggesting he should have signed it, Im suggesting/assuming that he or his agent felt he was in a strong position and wanted to see where the land lay. Unfortunately for them, it lies as it does currently.

On for? I can't recall every game..it was very evident that we needed another body in midfield v Fulham. Imo he should have been brought on
Well that's fair enough. That's one game. I thought Leeds may have been another. After all he played against the bastards last year.

But there's been a whole host of other games where I haven't been sitting there thinking, "d'ya know what, I really think we could use Dan Neil right about now".

Regis has been stood there thinking the same, and he's paid a lot more money than me.

I'd love nowt more than for us to be 3-0 up after the hour, and say there you go Dan, get out there and take the reins whilst Granit puts his feet up, but it's not happened.

What we've done so far this season has been brilliant, but let's not pretend it's been comfortable. We've had to dig in, graft our bollocks off, and we've needed our best players on the pitch for the majority of the 90 most every week. And unfortunately for Dan he is no longer one of our best players.

Same goes for O'Nien. I'd love to see the lad out there on the grass, but he's behind some of the best players we've seen at this level.

Well, my perspective originates from my assumption of what seems likely, that's pretty typical. Also typical is having a discussion on a football topic without having facts, it would be a bit bizarre if it were different.
