Martin O'Neill

Felt he was a bit half arsed here, specially with his affinity for the club.

Shocked he’s grafting a decade plus later, greedy owld kernt 😉
Tbf some managers are the perfect fit for certain clubs but not others. MON seems perfect for Celtic in a way that Nancy never ever could have been. Similar that Keano was for us but never could be at Ipswich.... ( he didnt like the colour of their kit )
I never really thought that RLB would be the perfect fit for us as he didnt ( initially ) seem to have any real passion.....instead he showed his calmness and intelligence .....as he continues to do and boy has it worked for us

I was referring to his very first time but yeah, that’s fair, great… feel like a knob now
00-05, won I think 7 trophies in those 5 years. So you’re spot on, basically 20 years later

If they kept him on a month ago I reckon they win that final against St Mirren and overtake Hearts. Now they’re 6 points behind

Good on him, like others have said they should have given him until the end of the season when he turned things around, insane decision to get shot and bring Nancy in.

I’ve an inkling he’ll get them the title again

I hope Hearts keep up and win it but is what it is.

It’s actually got me keeping up with Jock football again like, suppose that’s something.

This Celtic perfomance reminds me of the bilge he generally dished-up here - try to keep it 0-0 and have a go the last 10 minutes. They were 2 down before they crossed the halfway line.
He absolutely was never a Cloughy disciple, he just played for him.

Saw that, the former sky sports news deadline day wanker also said he had some unpleasant experiences with old ellis. With Keane talking about a four year legal battle with the club due to short also it doesn’t paint him well the way he ran us into an ice berg and dumped us to the cockney lot also still leaves a sour taste. I know he did some good things here but he truly fucked up here in reality wasting his and our money while doing so.
There was no ‘our money’
The ‘what Roy Keane wants, Roy Keane gets’ by the Irish mob was beginning of feck up.
Blaming short for supporting his managers is disingenuous.
Short was guilt of naïveté
The Irish consortium left behind a 60m mess which Short took over.
Keane was a massive fu(k up as evidenced by his 5hitshow at Ipswich
MoN was a rabbit in the headlights living on past glories.
Bruce was and is held in disdain but he had a positive net spend and a decent finish in league

It never ceases to amaze me how often I read on here:
‘O’Neil’s heart wasn’t it in’
‘Moyes threw in the towel’
‘Bruce lost the plot’

And anyone thinking Allardyce would have stuck around to have his reputation smashed to bits is completely deluded too.
Th club was an utter shambles, Short was taking us under, despite pretty reasonable managerial appointments. We were far far worse for them than they were for us at the time.

Short gave O’Neil a good amount of money to spend for the time. £12m on Fletcher, £10m Johnson, £5m Graham, £3m N’Diaye
