Really minor annoyances

Schools have special boilers that always seem to break when teachers don't fancy making the journey in. 🤔

Beyond the wit of man to have someone in the week before making sure everything is in working condition. Nope, just turn up day before and realise it's fucked.

Or its Billy Bullshit and people not wanting to go in when it's cold. Call me a cynic, but all other workplaces seem to function.

Aye, well other organisations seem to be able to arrange training for their staff without shutting their entire business down for the day down but hey ho.

Do you think teachers operate the boilers in schools? Or sabotage them?

The chuffing ridiculous rush to be the first SMBer to announce on here that they’ve put away the tree and decorations and “that’s it for another year” as if it deserves some kind of accolade. I think the record is Christmas Day evening. I don’t believe them in the first place but even if this was true why would you think this is something deserving around of applause?
Mine's getting taken down tonight.

My mam is terrible for this, or anything we watch at hers. Sometimes we will watch panel show comedies like Would I Lie To You or QI. Someone will say something that triggers a thought and off she goes on a story about the lives of people I have never met and never likely will. It feels rude to pause the program and just sit nodding, but often I do.

my mam is terrible for it, we'll be sat and the local news will come on. it'll go to a reporter out on the streets somewhere in the north east and they'll start the report by going 'i'm here at keel square where today....'

and my mam will butt in immediately 'eee thats sunderland, whats happened? i was just walking through there the other day, i wonder why the news reporter is there, maybe i'll be in the back ground, look you can see where i used to work, doesn't it look cold there, wonder when this was filmed, has something happened?'

just in time for the reporter to go 'back to the studio..' end of report

ours is getting took down now. i'm sort of keeping out the way till i get the shout to hoy it all back up in the loft. we have so much christmas shite it's unbelievable. the house looks great when it's all up mind.

back on topic of minor annoyances. when you pull over to let someone out from a slip road and they speed up. it's slightly compensated when they don't look further than their bonnet and have to brake to avoid going into the back of a wagon at which point it's quite amusing to watch them going apoplectic when i sit alongside the wagon for a mile or so.

Facebook Driving Know-it-Alls

Been a lot of videos popping up in recent days of people struggling on in the snow over Whitby / Scarborough way on.

The comments are riddled with people calling them crap drivers / should be doing this / should be doing that etc like they are Colin McCrae

I lived up Tow Law most of the 1990s and early 2000s and there was some proper snow kicking about. Driving in it is hard and tbh something i`d far rather not do . These facebook warriors go on like its a piece of piss and that they would navigate it one handed easily

Amazon Prime video and their drug dealer operational model.

I tried to watch one of the spin off series, "Fear the walking dead" after watching the main series on Disney. Amazon Prime was the only place that had it. First two episodes only had a minimal amount of adverts. This felt bearable. By episode 6 (the first series is only 6 episodes), there were longer ad breaks coming thick and fast. Then going to the second series, that is paid for content. I'm limited to what I can buy, because it is not my account I'm using!

You can buy the DVDs far cheaper, so I've gone back to removable media to watch this one. I did similar with Westworld.

At least with Netflix and Disney+ it is either there and included or it is not there. You don't get adverts.

There’s loads on prime you have to pay for.

I’d sack it off but I want to watch Clarkson’s farm which is coming soon.

I only have it because I use my brother-in-laws account, but it does seem to be a pay for, then pay more and more. Quite a lot you can pick up on YouTube. That in itself was far better when it was GoogleTV as you could separate the two. Now if you search for a series to watch, you can't always see the actual series because of all the public supplied content which matches. There are multiple menus to jump through to see what you have bought.

Related to that, it is annoying that most streaming apps have the continued watching section a few rows down. Most of the time when people start an app, they want to continue a half-watched thing or the next episode. Not have to skip down through new and trending, top rated romcoms, we think you might like, and whatever other stuff they put in your way.

Emails for the first week of January having some inane happy new year requirement
I got added to the works WhatsApp chat for major incidents. This is a chat that should only be used for extreme events. Christmas day, it started beeping away. I was starting to make Christmas dinner for a house full of people, but this is pretty important. Lots of people, wishing each other Happy Christmas.

Next day, beep beep beep, bollocks, am I going to be called into work on boxing day? No, happy boxing day folks. When has that ever been a thing that people wish. Same again 6 days later.

Pages of messages over the Christmas period, not a single one of them about a major issue that might need attention.

Bit niche but people who act on Tik Tok darts videos like Gerwyn Price would if he had just taken out 170 to beat Luke Littler and win the world title

Rev counters taking up a large amount of space on the dashboard of an automatic car.

I've never really used one when driving anyway, you can hear and feel what the engine is doing and instinctively know when to change gear. But on a car where you don't change gear, they are pointless.

Weather forecasters broadcasting live from some place about "treacherous weather" when its clearly not even cold enough for a wooly hat.

Dont tell me were having arctic blast if you havent even got a hat on. Or gloves
