Matchday Parking

I’ve decided it’s too cold to park in the usual spot today and walk down  Was wondering if I have any chance of getting parked in St Mary’s multi storey car park? If not any other options not too far from the ground?

Cheers!

Have you tried the your parking space app- last time I looked there were spaces available at the retail park next to Tesco’s.
I think Tesco shuts at 6pm so you would expect them to be selling a lot more parking spaces than they usually would on a regular match day.

Just thought it was evidence of your thread about possible impact of the public transport. Thought you might be interested

Sorry if not
To be fair I normally drive and park anyway but didn’t fancy the 25 minute walk in this temperature  Having said that if it was running I’d have taken the metro

Yes I wasn’t saying you aren’t getting to the match. Just saying issues like this will impact the attendance

Went home up Southwick Road, the amount of yellow parking tickets on windscreens was a disgrace. Club is helping put the city back on the map, 47,000 there tonight, no public transport so people forced to use the car. The council should hang their heads in shame having wardens out at that time on a New Year's Day
Aye I saw plenty up there.

People were incredibly naive if they thought they wouldn’t get done tonight tbh

Maybe, or maybe no other option, possibly if the same next season people could stay home and watch it. Would look great for the Sunderland having a half full ground, that will show a city on the up.

I doubt that many people had no other option like. Maybe the odd person with serious mobility issues and no blue badge.

But I’m sure the majority could have parked further away or in one of the multi-storeys

I understand what your saying, I live local and don't mind the match day goers parking as long as it's done respectively.

The parking on the entrance to the estate at The Colliery Tavern is a disgrace and dangerous. It forces the fans to walk on the roads between moving cars.

Also so many fans drive recklessly through the narrow streets. As I was walking along my street last night on the way back from the match a bloke hit one of my neighbours cars and drove off. I got part of the reg but luckily another fan also saw it and got the full reg.
