Growing up in Woking, as a kid, several of these were some of my earliest Sunderland heroes. Sadly, perhaps the biggest of them all is the reason why they’re together again.

L to R:
Entwhistle, Siddall, Mick Henderson, Peter Stronach (injury finished his career very early) Paul Atkinson, Chris Turner, Barry Dunn, John Cooke, Pickering, McCoist.

I would have only recognised the last 5 despite seeing all of the bar Stronach play.

Would never have got Entwhistle in a million years.

I didn't get them all - Wayne impossible. Big Barry like a Carry On Sergeant Major. Atkinson looking like he needs emergency blood pressure treatment. Barry Dunn still so Barry Dunn. Still a camaraderie there.

I've brimmed up a little. All our pasts and memories, and for Gary Rowell, one of our greats. I saw all of these play. A lucky man.

Peter Stronach joined Tyne and Wear fire brigade after he was finished through injury. The Lord is on record saying Stronach was the most talented player he ever played with
