ID checks for away tickets

so after all that, travelling to brighton, missing first 10 minutes, no help whatsover from anyone, eventually got a paper ticket and got in the ground...

...i've now received an email (in my junk folder where the original warning email was) saying that i didn't attend the game and they've cancelled my loyalty point.

merry xmas from SAFC.

i'm pretty sure the ticket office hate our supporters.

You’ll also be on the random ID list for Spurs if you’re going, or the next away game you go to until they have a record of seeing your ID.

Weve seen no improvement from them at all under this regime. Its a crying shame.

Ive got a relatively basic issue i need sorting which im gonna attempt in person.

Its like the movie quote “like watching a bunch of ret@@@s trying to fuck a doorknob”

I’d just send them a photo of the paper ticket, say you did the id checks and you want the point, also remind them that they never pulled this shit when we travelled through the last 8 years of dross. There’s an elite core of this fanbase they take for granted and are taking the piss out of a with these new ‘checks’
They’re lucky to have us. They wouldn’t I’d check us if we only took a few hundred away and sent tickets back to the home club would they?!

To be fair it will all be automatic / electronic. See if they deal with it properly when you contact them. Still agree that it's not ideal though.

they should have staff on the away turnstiles at brighton thanking every single supporter individually for making the effort and asking how they are, if theres anything they need etc..

and anyone getting pulled for an ID check, as long as they have ID and do as requested, should be getting a personalised thank you email with a free pint voucher for the inconvenience

do they know how much time and effort it takes to go to one single away game, never mind not missing a single away game all season.

they have a real special way of making you feel like shit

looks like they've had my ticket pre-printed but because they haven't sent any staff down and the brighton ticket office bloke i spoke to had no idea what i was on about, he just printed me a fresh ticket. meaning my pre printed ticket got sent back.

This is Janet and John stuff. The right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. For something like this, and it applies to @Grumpy Old Man too they should be at least writing to understand the circumstances before taking any action. To travel 700 miles and to get a message like that, at Xmas just beggars belief

It's always been the same. When they "lost" the email about my dad's season card 2 years ago, thier only response was abrupt, quite rude, and ended with 'this matter is now closed , we won't respond any more" despite them not answering anything I'd asked or sorting anything out. Hadn't even acknowledged my issue .

And with this, the emails are from a 'no reply' email address so you can't even challenge it or ask them a question.

Thier customer service skills are zero. It should be used by customer care training courses as 'what not to do" examples.

Would it even cross thier mind to say 'sorry for the inconvenience " after one of their many many fuck ups? Would it shite

My SAFC account says the loyalty point has been manually subtracted due to non attendance at Brighton.. they did it on Xmas eve..that's what the ticket office are doing Xmas eve.. slyly trying to punish fans who have travelled to Brighton away , without any semblance of dialogue or forethought

I'd told them I was ill and wouldn't be at City before the game even happened. Indirectly, they're accusing me of lying about that.

It’s sad really that going forward there’s the chance you’re going to have to ask the home team ticket office staff to either email our TO to confirm you attended or get some sort of letter signed by them to argue your case

I kept the paper ticket in my wallet , luckily it's still there otherwise I'd have very little proof that I actually attended

I didn’t even get a ticket for Brighton despite emailing them four times, decided against going, at 5am and the ticket had still not landed, asked ticket office for refund they said no so I done a section 75 on them.
They just tell lies to suit their position.
Incompetent set of twats.

A section 75 only covers purchases of £100 - £30,000 so I suspect you'll not get any joy that way unfortunately.

As far as I can tell all they’ve done is not awarded you a point as you didn’t attend the game. Maybe they’re removing points if the ticket isn’t used.

I’ve never had a problem with s75 claim

s under £100. I guess it’s down to which bank you use but I accept it’s not a statutory right if the transaction was less than £100.

Mind that's absolutely ridiculous from SAFC...

at the risk of defending the ticket office i don't see they've done much wrong tbf. i wonder if the message you had regarding the situation is just a generic one they've knocked up?
the only thing they might have done is that once you'd confirmed you weren't going would've been to put it back on sale.

Any indication of what’s happening if you’re caught passing numbers on, warnings, bans, points deductions etc?

This might sound snowflakey but I think I a lot of the problems could be solved by then just being a bit more humane by how they go about things and how they communicate

speak as you find. we've had 2 lots of tickets not arrive, chelsea and fulham and both times the ticket office have been spot on. got back within minutes to tell us to wait till the day before to see if they come then again to say they'd be there for collection which they were.
i suppose people only highlight bad experiences. how come you missed 10 minutes of the brighton game?
