Leeds 28/12/25 thread

Wont be one of our easiest games this season. They are on good form and will be on a high after palace. Personally want to see rigg dropped for isidor. Play 2 up front with 2 wingers. Brobbey is excellent and holdup play and Isidor can run in behind. Think it’s too early to put Mayenda straight into starting 11 as he may not be a little sloppy after being on bench for a while…

Brazilian giant in goal.
Big bastard back 3 of Bijol, Struijk, Rodon,
PL hardest midfield 3 of Ampadu, Gruev, Stach.
Scariest PL front two of DCL and Nmecha
Bogle and Gudmundsson bombing down the wings.

Scared Sunderland 0 Dirty Leeds 2

Anyone analysing this with ounce of balance has it as a home win and a bit of a coupon buster if it isn’t. The home team are one of only two in the division unbeaten at home and in the top 6 of the division. The away team have conceded 30 odd goals and only beaten hapless Wolves away. Our Afcon situation and Leeds showing some green shoots gives you a chance of a huge upset but I’m going 2-1 Sunderland.

Dirty Leeds, are hitting a patch of form...
Scoring goals and strong in defence... a good test.

They haven't kept a clean sheet since the opening day (16 games in a row)

We've just kept two clean sheets in a row

Both teams to score would be my bet

At home you won your cup final with a freak own goal and have only won against West Ham, Brentford, Wolves and Bornemouth and you have Brian your prolific striker on two goals.

We are pretty shit away from home but I am fairly confident we can come away with a point.

Only won against west ham, Brentford, wolves and forest ..?

Yet we've won 7 league games. How does that work ?

You’re quickly becoming an absolute boring arse wipe like.

If you get something from us, you’ll be even more insufferable, but if you get beat I reckon you’ll disappear.

He was respectable at first and then has started to act like an absolute wanker.

Typical Leeds fan, didn’t take long for the mask to slip.

Just sounds like a mag.

Why does nobody outside of our circle seem to understand we’re 6th in the premier league, on merit. Beat the mags, easily, on merit. It wasn’t a cup final it was just ANOTHER home win amongst many, where we remain unbeaten, and currently have the universally agreed signing of the season.

What’s so difficult for these bitter bastards to understand?

I think this is a fair summary. If you’re into the stats there is a league table that shows where clubs would be based on xg and xga. Interestingly our positions were almost reversed with Leeds top half and Sunderland bottom 4

I know stats mean nothing but it does create some hope knowing how strong you are at home.. Clearly we will be playing for set pieces and interesting Palace hadn’t conceded from long throws all season and then concede 2 against us.

That said I do think you could play through our midfield relatively easily with Xahka probably the best PL signaling of the summer

Hoping the AFCON impacts you and we can can both claim a valuable point. Think we will try and go for the win knowing the run we have coming up

I expect this one to be a great game tbh with Leeds looking to disrupt as much as possible

With us in 6th, are we not part of that “run”? We’re above Newcastle AND Man Utd.

I find that most teams with high XG love to bang on about XG.

I would have thought it was obvious that my post describing the leeds team was just a bit of fun no need to take it so serious.

Football fans should be able to have some fairly harmless banter with each other outside of the actual game.

what’s happened to Mayenda? He played the first 2 or 3 looked decent and he’s never had a look in since. Actually think he’s a decent finisher n should be getting minutes especially with afcon as Wilson can be used out wide
He missed that Burnley sitter amd that was enough for his confidence and RLB to think twice

At this time of year may PEACE be with you ❤️

It will be a good close game decided on small margins. Our left back in particular is a massive miss but we are always strong and well organised. Set plays are big for both sides.

We’ve done so well this season by not getting ahead of ourselves. Of course we can beat Leeds but it’s more than conceivable that a team who’ve taken 8 points from their last 4 will be high on confidence and ready to take us head on. We will also have some pressure on us to dominate possession and take the game to Leeds and I’m not sure we’re at our best when asked to do that, especially at the moment with the players we’re missing.

It would be such a great game to win though. I’d almost then be tempted to use the squad for the City game, coming back to a more measured starting 11 for the spurs and Brentford games. I don’t think there’s any chance we flog the Crown Jewels for the cup game especially as it’s a slim chance of winning even if we do, so the players can also be rotated for that one. And then after that we might start getting one or two back from AFCON and of course the exciting prospect of 1 or 2 signings through the door.

I think a big factor in your favour is that the SOL, RLB and pretty much your entire squad were an unknown quantity in the PL. For sure you have been able to capitalise on it and your relatively soft opening games helped to build belief throughout the club

Would love it if the positions were reversed but I do feel that the current league position (not points total) flatters you a little. Not a criticism it just feels like a funny league this year and I’m more than happy for you guys to stay up…just so long as it’s not at our expense!

Would love to see Wolves, West Ham and Brentford all go down and 3 really shit / skint teams all come up
