ID checks for away tickets

Im on a Samsung and mine did the same. I loaded it to my wallet Wednesday evening.

I didn't realise until I cane out of their fanzone. Had a little panic and then found it in the archive bit. Selected unarchive 3 or 4 times but couldn't move it back. Managed to open it in the archive bit and thankfully it worked.

Wife has an iPhone and hers was fine.

Mine is Samsung also. My heart sank when it wasn't there.

But it's ok for them to have a go at us? My point is they generally have themselves to blame. The system/process has been in place for a long time. Nothing has changed other than our league position

I don’t feel as if anyone is having a go.

People could have done 4/5 away trips per season for a generation and can’t go now. They’re proper fans and that’s a shame.

If we get to a cup final and people don’t get a ticket cos they didn’t bother with Stoke or Huddersfield at home in the cups I’ll join you in not having much sympathy, but on this one I do.

For some reason my ticket yesterday had been archived. I did not archive it. Reading this thread no biggie in the grand scheme of things but it did seem a bit odd.
Mine did the same. Didn't think to look in archived so redownlaoded then said already in wallet then showed.

Suspect it might be a android thing

I think we are probably on the same page and I've been there - missed out on QPR away last season and Oxford - I was gutted. I have never missed out on a QPR/Oxford ticket away in the last 40 years - But it was my fault. I agree 19 points over the last 3.5 seasons is a real fan, i've got mates with less who are lifelong fans and of course I sympathise with them but there are still plenty across all the threads who complain with far fewer if any at all. My point is nothing has changed, they had the chance to go more often but they decided not to. That was their choice. They need to take responsibility for their actions rather than just wanting the process to be changed to suit them now.

That's a great reply bud

In reality, there should be two points of view.

1. People who believe that the current system is fit for purpose and does not require change.

2. People who think that the current system is flawed and requires review and change.

I personally can get on board with either of these opinions and can see sensible arguments in favour of both.

There are however an extra group who believe

3. People who believe the current system is fit for purpose and does not require change but do not, under any circumstances, want the rules of the scheme they profess to agree with enforced in any way by the club.

I struggle with the latter.

I dont think the system is fit for purpose, due to the people on the most points just getting tickets for anyone when they arent attending an away match themselves.
Tbh though, I honestly dont know what the solution is from the clubs point of view. It’s really difficult
I would maybe say a small percentage of away tickets are on a ballot for all season tkt holders, just to give people the chance to get a point, while the majority go in a loyalty system. That way people with kids etc could take a chance in the ballot. I also think the club need to be thinking for the future, eg, if we got to an FA cup final. For me, it has to be on length of season ticket…can’t have old folk who dont generally go away but had a season ticket for 30 year missing out cos someone who has a season tkt for a couple of years and been to 5 away games on the piss with his mates in two seasons is seen to be more loyal. The club need a serious think over this

Your idea re the FA Cup final tickets has real merit for sure but I'm not sure that you've thought through your ideas on the loyalty points system. For example. What if we take 10% of tickets and put them in a ballot (Putting aside the fact that the TO can't even get simple information, like what time tickets will go on sale, correct so I have no confidence in their ability to run a ballot). All ST holders can apply, lets say only 6000 put their names into the hat. You've got a one in 20 chance of getting a ticket. So on average one ticket per season, that may be better than your current chances but it isn't going to move the needle on how many points you actually have. The rest, as you say, go into the loyalty system. When that happens the people who are "just getting tickets for anyone when they arent attending an away match themselves" will continue to buy the tickets because they probably already have the most points. The guys that miss out are the guys on the threshold already - probably 20-35 points - I would guess that they're already missing out a lot but would have to miss out even more so that those with far fewer points can go.
Just how many people are passing on tickets. Reading this thread would suggest quite a few but this forum isn't a real cross section of our fan base. So dozens?, 50? 100? If its 100 (which sounds like a lot to me) then 97% of all of our fans are using the system properly. Its not perfect and I would like to see some changes but overall I think it works even though I've missed out in the past

Exactly why I said I don’t know what the answer is from the club, but i am sure there will be a different way to try!

For a cup final if the people in your example had done Stole and Huddersfield in the cups they’d be fine.

If anyone doesn’t do those (on top of zero aways) they’d rightly be bottom of the queue imo.

FA Cup should be on attendance at the games of that competition over the season. Say all that attended 5 games get first dibs. There’ll most definitely be people that can’t be arsed to go to the first few rounds that will cry on cos they can’t get final tickets.
